This is the only baby monitor that I've used so far and I've been pretty unhappy with it. Our house is fairly small (1600 sq ft) and I get lots of static when the baby is in her room and we're listening in the living room. It's not that far... in fact, if i leave the door open I can hear her cry without the monitor if things are fairly quiet. I was hoping to use this for when we sleep as she gets older but honestly the static would keep me awake as opposed to offering me the peace of mind that I was hoping for. I know there are other monitors that reach further... i just haven't tried any of them yet b/c this one was purchased for me as a gift and I can't bear the thought of wasting it and spending even more money on another one that I might hate just as much.Customer Review: Terrible static!

My husband and I had to buy a new baby monitor about 3 months ago. The original Fisher Price Baby Monitor we had for over 2yrs and it was excellent! The new monitors we bought are terrible! There is constant static where ever it is sitting whether it is plugged in with the cord or using batteries. It also makes a high pitched squeal if we walk into our baby's room even if it is sitting in our room. We then have to race out and turn off the monitor. I would not recommend this model. I wish we could find the original model in stores. We have found it online but for more money but I think it will be well worth it. The model I would recommend Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Dual Receiver Monitor which is available on Amazon.Customer Review: Don't waste your money

Don't waste time, money, or frustration on this item. I received this product at my baby shower in May of last year and ended up having to purchase another unit (with only one receiver) because it wouldn't hold a charge and the connection went bad. You had to have it place perfectly in the slot to be able to hear the baby. We purchased the second one in Sept of last year and used it for only a few months and are having the same issue. The batteries won't even work with the unit unplugged. So we have spent about $100 for two units that don't work. We could have spent $20 more and purchased one with video. It did work great for the few months it worked.Customer Review: Horrible product

I had purchased an older version of Fisher Price monitor which still works well after almost 5 years. In hopes of getting a similar quality product, I purchased this Fisher Price monitor. It is horrible. Right from the beginning there was a lot of static in the monitor to the point that it was difficult sleeping with this monitor on. After 2-3 days the static disappeared. We were really happy until we realized a day later that the static disappeared because the monitor was not working anymore. We of course tried channel changing etc. but nothing worked. The monitor broke down on us within 5 days! If that is not a bad product then I don't know what is.Customer Review: Don't get this monitor!

After 3 months of use this monitor broke. All it does is light up, no sound. We had problems with it before, lots of static. If you wanted to plug anything else in like a cellphone, the static would be so loud we couldn't sleep through it. Also, something I hated about this monitor... if the power went out it would not use its battery power, it would just shut off. So, during a bad storm if the power went off you wouldn't be able to hear your baby.
When shopping for this monitor it was the price that got me, so we bought it. It is not worth it, keep looking, spend more money if you have to.
