I have to first say that I read just about all the reviews on every product that I buy here on Amazon BEFORE I buy. I gotta tell ya I had mixed feelings when I made this purchase but am overwhelmingly pleased with the quality and performance of this product.
I saw alot in the reviews that the sound quality was not good or could be better; BAH! sound quality is fine so long as you don't set the radios up next to or on top of flourescent lights or too close to electrical outlets.
The extra receiver is great too, especially with the light up feature. When I'm in the garage working on my car or whatever, I don't miss a thing even if I can't hear the monitor I can see the red lights light up when my daughter starts to stir.
By the way, the garage receiver has already been through the paces as far as "drops" go...still works fine. Just don't go driving over the darn thing or throwing it at the wall and you should have them for a few kids! lol

This monitor is horrible. My baby has outgrown his bassinet and spent his first night in his crib in his own room last night, and we used this monitor from our bedroom a short way down the hall.
First, the monitor buzzes loudly, constantly. To the point I put a pillow over my head to shut out the noise till I could fall asleep. Then there are random clicks and pops and odd noises...over and over the monitor woke me up with screeches and odd noises, and I got up to check on my son...and he was sleeping soundly and silently. The noises from the monitor were NOT coming from the base of the unit in his room.
Worst of all, when he finally did wake up for a night feeding, I could hear him just as well 2 rooms away as I could over the monitor.
From my experience, this unit is better at torturing exhausted new parents than functioning as a baby monitor.

We purchased this monitor after using the older lights and sounds monitor for a year because it was smaller and less clunky. It worked well for about 6 months and then began having a lot of static and interference. We tried switching channels and outlets several times and then it developed a new problem...complete loss of signal until we would jiggle the ac adaptor or just use batteries. Two weeks after the one year warrenty expired, we realized we could not take it anymore and called customer service. Not only were they completely apologetic for our trouble, but even though the warrenty had expired, they sent us a voucher of more than we paid for the monitor and sent us a postage-free label so we didnt have to pay for shipping! Not a great product, but we are really happy with Fisher Price in being so willing to make things right! EXCELLANT CUSTOMER SERVICE!Customer Review: Not impressed

This monitor has antennas that screw on and off too easily, they become wobbly so we are constantly tightening them and now no longer screw on at all. This makes the monitors constantly fuzzy. We are also always flipping back and forth between the two channels to try and stop hearing the neighbors' baby cry every morning. Doing things like flipping on a light switch causes them to crackle or if you stand in the wrong part of the room there is constant static. The batteries go dead very quickly when not running with the AC adapters. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is that it has lasted (barely) for over two years and for some reason we have learned to live with it's annoyances rather than buy a new one so there must be some redeeming factor though I couldn't tell you what it is.Customer Review: Horrible static

I had a Sound N Lights monitor with my first child six years ago and it was great, except when I tried to get it to work with this baby. I was not upset about the old one not working because we definitely got our money's worth from it. I decided since I liked the first one so much that I would purchase the updated version. It is HORRIBLE!!!! There is constant static and the lights are all lit up when the baby is silent. I valued those lights the last time because I kept the monitor turned down so I didn't hear every noise, but could see if the baby was crying. Don't waste your money! I did not keep the box for this one because I trusted that it was going to be a good product. Now I am stuck with it and will have to spend more money to purchase a different monitor.
