You'll be surprised with how a company like Fisher-Price will place such a piece of crap in the market. This Made in China - cheap plastic - low quality components- piece of junk is useless. I tried monitoring my baby just 60 feet away and got NO SIGNAL AT ALL. When I got closer (40ft) I had a signal but full of static. This monitor is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. I think it is UNSAFE to trust it for taking care of my baby. Any good reviews on this product MUST be placed by the company. IT IS TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY IT.Customer Review: Dont buy it

This thing is junk..tried various channels and all it does is emit a constant static. we had to turn the volume all the way down and only go by the lights. then it overloads when we run the microwave or hair dryer or other appliances.
we returned it.
the feature that I would recommend you not live without (whish this unit does not have) is the 'voice activated' feature...so you can leave the monitor sound loud enough to hear it when your baby is actually making noise but you dont hear a constant background noise.

I am a dad and not good at shopping for these kinds of things, but I hit the target with this one. The range on this thing is AMAZING! I can go 4 houses down (200+ft) and have great reception! It is so clear you can literally hear finger nails tapping on wood. And the price c'mon you cant beat it!Customer Review: Don't get this monitor!

After 3 months of use this monitor broke. All it does is light up, no sound. We had problems with it before, lots of static. If you wanted to plug anything else in like a cellphone, the static would be so loud we couldn't sleep through it. Also, something I hated about this monitor... if the power went out it would not use its battery power, it would just shut off. So, during a bad storm if the power went off you wouldn't be able to hear your baby.
When shopping for this monitor it was the price that got me, so we bought it. It is not worth it, keep looking, spend more money if you have to.

Don't waste time, money, or frustration on this item. I received this product at my baby shower in May of last year and ended up having to purchase another unit (with only one receiver) because it wouldn't hold a charge and the connection went bad. You had to have it place perfectly in the slot to be able to hear the baby. We purchased the second one in Sept of last year and used it for only a few months and are having the same issue. The batteries won't even work with the unit unplugged. So we have spent about $100 for two units that don't work. We could have spent $20 more and purchased one with video. It did work great for the few months it worked.
