We bought this monitor about a year ago to replace the one we had gotten at a yard sale and it seemed to work great at first, however after about 2 months the 1st receiver, (it came with two), just suddenly stoped working! I thought maybe one of our family members got water on it or something because it was kept in the kitchen, but sure enough a few months later the other receiver that we kept in our bedroom just suddenly stoped working! There must be some kind of defect in the production of these things because as I can see from reading the other reviews that we're not the only family having problems. Save yourself the headache and purchase a different brand/model.Customer Review: Great monitor for the price

I read the reviews and was hesitant to buy this monitor, but I needed a cheap one. To my surprise, this monitor works VERY well. Granted, when you turn the volume all the way up, you hear static even when the baby is silent. Otherwise, I think it is very good and clear, and has a decent range. I use the receiver downstairs from my baby's room, and I can hear every hiccup. I am very pleased. The only downside I see is that the antenna on the receiver is very big, and although it has a belt clip, I can't imagine carrying this thing around with me. Overall, Its a GREAT monitor for the price.Customer Review: Lots of excess noise then totally quit

This was a great monitor for the first 4-6 months, which is very soothing to a first time mom. But then we started picking up our neighbor's AM gospel channel each evening. We had dual recievers and the first one totally quit working after 9 months. Then we had to take the other one from the bedroom to the living room and eventually the plug wore out after a couple more months. Now it is not even working with the batteries. They last about 1 minute when you turn it on, then it just fades out!? I was hoping this one would last through at least 2 children, but it didn't even make it 15 months.Customer Review: Don't bother - horrible static

We have two monitors that we use constantly - one for our baby's room and one for our toddler's room. We have a much cheaper Safety 1st monitor that works sooooo much better than the more expensive Fisher Price Sounds N Lights monitor. The FP monitor has constant static. It's obnoxious and you can barely hear noises from the child's room over the static noise. We've tried all 10 channels, with and without the other monitor on and nothing improves the static problem. I would never recommend purchasing this product. We will be purchasing a different monitor to replace this one.Customer Review: receivers are top heavy

The monitor works fine. There's no problem with static, and it picks up the smallest noises. For it's purpose it's sufficient.
The big complaint I have is the receivers are top heavy. They constantly tip over. If you have the receiver in a high traffic area like ours which is on our kitchen counter, it falls over multiple times each day. Usually we just leave it. How hard would it have been to design a wide and/or heavier base for the receiver?
This is a cheap product that gets the job done, just barely.
