We orginally put our son next to the bed in the pack-n-play bassinet. He did fine, but woke up all the time. We bought this glider when he was 5 weeks old and he started sleeping most of the night. He is now 4 months and is sleeping most nights in his own crib. He is a side sleeper which is not possible in the glider. We did not have any problems transitioning between this and his motionless crib. We had the glider on all night, every night and only changed the batteries one time. It is loud, but babies seem to love the sound. We never used the music or the mobile.Customer Review: Great for sleeping, but eats batteries, mechanical issues.

This was a lot of fun for about 2 weeks. Sadly, it eats batteries and the motor dies frequently. Eventually, despite replacing batteries multiple times, it died completely. We've had the bouncer for 3 months and we only use it as a place for our baby to take naps now. He far prefers it to his crib as it cradles him cozily. He has slept up to 6 hours in it when swaddled, as opposed to 4-5 hours in his crib, but we're working on that. It is also somewhat bulky. Not happy with the extra "features" but love it as a temporary bassinet. The fabric cover machine washes easily.Customer Review: if you want your baby to sleep BUY THIS!

We bought this when our daughter was 2 months old. and it was part of her night routine!! she fall sleep in it EVERY TIME. plus it was the perfect place to put her after feedings or if we have guest or just doing chores around the house! this is by far our fav. baby gear product. however now that she's 7 months old, she doesn't like it as much because now that she can roll and sit she feels that it's restraining her. but we had to do it all again, we will buy it at a heart beat!! it gave us 5 months of happiness!!
P.S. check other places you might find it cheaper.

Our child has gerd and has been unable to sleep lying flat since birth. This chair has been a lifesaver. The head is elevated in this chair so there is no need to worry about your child spitting up and choking in his sleep. The chair feels sturdy but the part the baby lies in is soft, it gently wraps around your baby and literally rocks them to sleep. The glider does make noise while gliding and at first I found it annoying....that was before I realized the sound drowns out the other sounds in the house that might wake the baby in it's sleep. My son has short gut syndrome and thrashes all night. He is hooked up to multiple lines(central line,lipid line and feeding tube) This has tremendous helped me get some much needed sleep. The buckle prevents him from rolling around, entangling the lines around his body and neck. The gliding motion also soothes him and he sleeps LONGER. It took about a week for him to adjust. He weighs 27lbs and can still fit. The downside, he will soon grow out of it. I wish they made the straps and cradle longer for bigger toddlers. Then this item would be PERFECT.
