Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Rainforest Peek-A-Boo Waterfall Soother

Customer Review: My daughter LOVES this!
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely love this crib soother! The blue waterfall light is so pretty, the music is wonderful - not annoying at all!, the rainforest sounds are cool, the characters are cute, and my daughter really loves to look at it! She started noticing it at about 1 week old and now at 2 and a half weeks old, she quiets down as soon as I turn it on and just stares at it. I can't wait til she's older, can push the Tucan on button (so cute!), and can appreciate it even more! Highly recommend this product!!! If you're torn between different crib soothers, pick this one! You won't be sorry!

Customer Review: Our Daughter Loves it!
Summary: 4 Stars

This was a product that we were dying to have. I bought it hen first pregnant and used it for a friend's child when I babysat (frequently) and then it has been in my daughter's crib now since birth. She is almost 3 months. She didn't show much interest in it until about 2 months, as she had a hard time turning her head to see it because it was on her side. Now she just loves it, and smiles and coos at it all the time. I do agree that the light is bright. It would be nice if there were two light settings. She loves to watch it in the dark, but I don't play it with the intention to put her to sleep (which is what I thought I would be using it for) It's way to bright and wakes her up instantly. But I do love the different volume settings, other Fisher Price Rainforest products could learn from a lower volume setting.

We just changed the batteries for the first time and it has been in use for more than 3 months.

Nice product!

UPDATE: My daughter is now 15 months old and still has this in her crib. She plays it every night as part of her bedtime routine and only cries when going to bed if it isn't on. It alleviates those first few moments of stress being alone in a dark room. By the time it's done playing, she's asleep. I have only changed the batteries Twice in 15+ months of use, and we use it every day.

Customer Review: Way too bright, otherwise is great
Summary: 3 Stars

I originally had the ocean wonders aquarium, and needed a second one for my second son. I gave this one a try because I liked the jungle theme. I do like the music options, the volume options, and the motion the monkeys make. My son seems to really like it and we've actually taken it travelling with us for a sense of home for him. Works like a charm. He's 9 months old and is starting to turn it on/off by himself now.

But I'm not in love with it. Here's why:
1. The straps are SO hard to deal with. Every battery change involves lots of deep breaths for mom, especially because I don't realize they're low until bedtime and the boy is screaming.
2. When using the lights - the waterfall LED is WAY WAY WAY too bright. In the middle of the night, if you turn it on in a pitch dark room, you and your child literally have to cover your eyes, look away, or squint. The lights on the fish portion are great, but are overpowered by the waterfall. (the original ocean wonders lights were incredibly peaceful).
3. The button for the child to activate it is too small in my opinion and too high for them to reach.
4. The batteries drain pretty fast if you have it set to have all functions going. We usually just use music and bubbles for that reason, which still works fine to soothe him.
5. Bubbles are kind of lame, only a few here and there.

All in all, its fun, but I wouldn't buy it again just because its too too bright for nighttime use.

Customer Review: Love It
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this for my son when he was about 4 weeks old. It is so calming for him and me. I love that it will play the music only part for 18 minutes. The lights on it are soothing shades, not too bright. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Customer Review: Too Many Batteries
Summary: 4 Stars

I love the Peek a Boo waterfall soother. It has a wonderful time setting option from 6 minutes, 12 minutes or 18 minutes. My son just turned a year and he still loves it. The only problem I am having with it (and hopefully it's only me) is I am replacing the (Energizer or Duracell)batteries constantly. He's used it now for 9 months and in that time frame I have replaced the batteries 6 times. I think that's alittle much. But other wise it's a great toy and 9 months later still entertaining.
