Great product, baby loves the rocking swing motion and the rainforest sounds and toys etc... my only criticism is that with the rocking motion comes a mechanical noise that isn't overly soothing for the baby. I received this swing as a gift and I am extremely disappointed in it. I have all the other Precious Planet products and I love them. This swing took a while to put together and when we finally finished, it is crooked! It's put together the correct way, but I can't swing my daughter in a crooked swing, it looks like she is going to fall out! I would definitely not reccommend this product, go for the cheaper precious planet travel swing, it works great!Customer Review: makes baby so happy!

We try to hold our baby most of the time, but sometimes you have to go to the ladies room and you need a secure place. Or perhaps the whole family is eating dinner - it's a great place to put the baby so that he can watch the action - and we know he's safe. So, justification for swing done. I think it's fine to have a swing as long as you aren't putting your baby in it all day long. Swings have been used in cultures all over the world for babies.
This particular swing is great because you can plug it in! I still haven't used the rainforest bouncer because it takes 4 D batteries and I just don't have any lying around. The swing however can be battery-powered or plugged into a wall.
It has a lot of cool features. It can swing in 2 different directions. It can swing at several different speeds (I think five). It also has a cute soft-toy mobile, that looks like jungle animals playing in the tree tops. The leaves on the mobile open and close. Finally, there are several types of music - lullabies, tropical upbeat music, rain sounds and forest sounds. The music can get a bit annoying. Lest I forget, you can also recline the seat or make it more upright.
I don't understand the purpose of the tray, which doesn't seem removable. It doesn't seem necessary at all times for safety. Our kid is too young to use the tray.

My son absolutely LOVES this swing! He would rather sleep in it than his crib!! I reccomend this swing and some baby einstein for fussy or bored babies!!
