Customer Review: Very nice to have for a newborn

We were 3 weeks into adjusting to the new member of our family. We had the Fisher Price Rainforest bouncy chair, but it seemed to lose its soothing qualities as our little girl started to become more active than just an eating, sleeping, pooping machine. The vibration on the bouncy chair still works, but she really enjoys rocking in our arms. We decided on purchasing the travel swing, but it was not available in the store so we "upgraded" to the Cradle Swing. Well, it is quite evident that she loves the swing since she falls asleep within minutes of being placed in the seat. We exclusively use the power adapter and have had no problem with the amplitude of the swing. In fact, with our 7 pound baby, we need to keep it at setting 2 or below to prevent it from swinging too much. Our guess is that as she gains weight we will have to increase the setting. She enjoys looking at the mobile, as much as a 4 week old can. We would strongly recommend this open top swing despite its $120 price tag. The swing has already paid for itself in the hours of soothing calmness that it has provided.Customer Review: Perfect!!!

I bought this swing after much researching. I bought not for my own child but for my friend's baby girl for when they are at my house and for when my husband and I have another child. I have had 4 children of my own, my oldest is almost 11 and back then they were crank operated. I have owned 2 battery operated swings before this one.
The highlights for me were the fact that it can go in the 2 different directions and that I can plug it in. My friends baby absolutely loves this swing and in fact it's the only place she wants to sleep when she is at my house. It does have gliches every once in a while but that is easily solved by switching it over to battery and then checking the power cords different connections as there are 2 points where it connects before it finally ends in the wall plug. After that I switch it back to the plug in and it works fine.
The cover is very easy to remove and launder. The toys are easily wiped clean too. Overall, I have NO COMPLAINTS. This is by far the best deal and the best swing I have ever owned. If I had to I would buy it again and again.

We bought this swing for our 3 week old when we realized that she was a baby who demanded to constantly be held - the motif is adorable, the mobile a very convenient way to entertain your infant and the easy transition between swinging styles is an awesome feature. We did have some trouble, however - just 2 1/2 weeks later, the swing motor stopped working. The mobile and music continued to work, but the swing just wouldn't go. The morning after we figured this out, we called Fisher Price and they were great about helping us out - they had us try a few quick fixes, and when none were successful they just offered to send us a new motor housing.
So PLEASE do not let any reviews about this problem (which there have been a few) keep you from buying this swing! For $100, you are getting an awesome swing that your baby will love, will look adorable in any room with an animal motif, and will save every new mommy's sanity. If you wind up need to wait a few days for a (completely free) new motor, you still got an awesome deal. Both me and my baby love this swing!

We have an odd problem with our cradle swing that noone else has mentioned. The seat does not hang level from the frame. The seat has two positions: one that allows the baby to rock side to side, and one that allows the baby to rock front to back(the swing always swings side to side: to adjust the direction of the swing for the baby, you rotate the seat 90 degrees, and have the baby face to the left in the swing assembly). When the seat is arranged to rock side to side, the tilt doesn't matter (the baby is simply leaning back more than one would expect). But when the seat is rotated 90 degrees, so that the seat rocks front to back, the seat is tilted at an angle (i.e. the right side of the seat is lower than the left side), and the baby bunches up against the right side of the seat (imagine sitting on a chair that is on a slight hill, or that is angled; you would 'roll' to the low side). I couldn't see any manufacturing flaw, and there is really no way for our assembly to cause this. We'll be returning the swing and finding something else.

This is BY FAR thee greatest swing out there. Most of these reviews are from first time moms who haven't seen what else is out there. I HAVE! I was a nanny, a pre-school teacher, and now am a mom of 3.
The song variety is great for setting baby's mood and keeping mommy sane. The mobile is cute and engaging...wish it had lights. The speed variety is superfluous; I think of it as three settings. The ability to vary swing direction is wonderful for that transition from newborn to baby. It reclines just the right amount for sleeping without having to worry about older babies going out the top. I like that the tray swings away and even comes off. Still using it every day for my 9-month-old .
And OH MY GOD! It actually PLUGS IN! This ALONE saves me $10 a week in batteries (rechargeables are a joke for swings). I'd never have spent the money for a third baby otherwise. I but this for EVERY expecting mom, even if it's not the one on their list and I have to find someone to split the cost.
Buy it and be THRILLED!
