I borrowed this from a family member for our now 6 wk old and she loves it...especially the changing lights at the top. It's great that there are so many different things to look at. Shortly after we began placing her on the mat she began babbling for the first time... Perhaps thats all in the timing of her development, however, she doesnt babble anywhere else but on the mat. The music isn't that annoying especially since it's broken up with soothing nature sounds. The mat can easily be taken off & washed. Would be nice if it included a thick pad for underneath the mat for extra comfort & support. Only other thing I can think of as a negative is the butterflies do not rotate on their own, for them to move you must do it yourself; otherwise great product! My husband and I had a hard time picking a play mat (there are so many!) but decided to get this one because we liked the colors and the giraffe. We are SO SO happy we got it! My son LOVES it. We started laying him in there when he was about 2 months old and it would totally captivate him for the length of the song (20 minutes). Now he's 4 months old and laying him down on here allows me to cook dinner, get a shower...have at least 20 minutes of time to get stuff done. I actually really enjoy the song (Skip to my lou) and my son loves the rainforest sounds. At four months, he just started liking it for tummy time as well....he stares at the creatures down below. This comes with a variety of attachments...soft ones, a mirror, a rattle, a spinny toy... you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend this!Customer Review: Fabulous Baby Gym/Play Mat.

This is such a fun gym. It kept my son entertained for quite some time even before he could roll over. It is well made and well designed. It took very little time to put together and the batteries are easy to replace. The music is similar to that on the Rainforest high chair and so are the characters. You can lie the baby diagonally on the mat so that his feet can kick or push the side pole and activate the music and lights. It also has a setting where the music and lights run without stopping for around 20 mins, and it is not horrendously irritating. There are two volume settings too. Each of the toys is a different activity and have kept my son busy for ages. Now he is spending more time on his front they detach from the gym and attach to the floor mat. We purchased this when my daughter was about 3 months old. She's always been really (REALLY) active & interested for her age group, so we were looking for something to keep her entertained for more than a few weeks. This play gym has a mat that we throw in the washer every couple of days, and the toys are easy to clean as well. There are plenty of loops so you can move the toys around, and she LOVES the mirror. It is also very sturdy - my daughter is already breaking toys meant for her age (6 mos), so it's really nice to be able to let her beat the heck out of this without having to worry about things breaking and little pieces of broken toy ending up in her mouth. The lights/music are nice, but don't hold her attention much. She's much more interested in gumming the elephant to death.Customer Review: My baby loves this mat!

My daughter is 2 1/2 months old and she already loves this. I like all of the different textures and sounds from the mat and toys- the leaf on the bottom makes crinkly sounds, there are beads in a roller, and the mat itself has silky ribbon bows and other textures. My only complaint is that the two butterflies underneath the sound box don't spin on their own. But mostly she just likes looking at them right now, so it isn't a problem. It was easy to put together, and we've used it for a few minutes a day for a few weeks and the batteries are still going strong. I also like the music (it isn't tinny sounding like some) and the forest sounds make my daughter's eyes go big and round. I received this as a gift and in addition to her bouncer, this is her favorite item.
