Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Rainforest JumperooCustomer Review: A great jumper for your little monkey!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this jumper for my grandson when he was 4 1/2 months old b/c his dad loved the doorway model when he was a baby. After a short learning curve for the jumping aspect of the toy, he absolutely loves it!!! He likes the toys that are attached- I wasn't sure about the firefly b/c it just hangs over the side, but he goes for Flora Firefly every time he's in the Jumparoo. He will jump and jump to keep the music playing (you can set the music to play when he jumps or all the time or not at all) and is absolutely thrilled with the results as evidenced by the ear-splitting grin on his face. This is definitely a must-buy. I move it from room to room while I clean up or cook dinner or even eat lunch (yes, you can even have a hot meal courtesy of the Jumparoo!). We have the Rainforest mobile and he likes to see his Rainforest Friends here as well. The only drawback to the Jumparoo is the height adjustment. Even at the number 1 setting, we have to place a small pillow or folded blanket underneath in order for his toes to touch the floor as recommended because he's not the tallest monkey on the percentile charts. But I would definitely recommend getting this toy for your baby-they can just sit in the Jumparoo and watch the world or have some great jumping time to exercise those leg muscles that they'll soon be using to run around the jungle-5 Stars in my book!
Customer Review: Best $$ ever spent Summary: 5 Stars
So the choice was between the (i) Fisher Price Rain Forest Jumperoo, (ii) Fisher Price Deluxe Jumperoo and (iii) Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Center. We ultimately chose the Rain Forest Jumperoo for the following reasons: my baby girl loves to bounce, so we really wanted to get for her something that she could -jump- in - so Baby Einstein was out, which I was sorry for because I really liked the toys on it; and, we liked the thought of her being able to swivel - so the Deluxe was out because it doesn't, and it also doesn't have that many toys on it.
Went out in the freezing rain on Saturday to get it, and boy was that one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was kicking myself for not realizing that these jumping things were out there but it turned out just fine because, although my five month old is big for her age, her feet just reach the floor in the "1" position, so she has a lot of jumping ahead. She LOVES the jumperoo - huge smiles on her face, loves the toys and just jumps away (and as the mother of an active baby, her being able to use some of that energy up like this is truly heaven-sent). And, as an added bonus, I can feel somewhat reassured if I have to go to the other room for a minute (vs the activity gym, where she can roll over 3 or 4 feet, and the bouncer, which she eventually tries to get out of).
Customer Review: Very much Loved, great resale value too. Summary: 5 Stars
We loved this!! Our daughter would stay in it for an hour if we would let her. She bounced her little heart out. It's sort of like the johnny jumper, just more entertaining, and your kid won't bang into the moulding or swing away several feet. It has enough goodies to play with but is not totally overstimulating. The rotation is great, because the child can do it for themselves.
I like the round floor fixture better than the newer strange shaped ones. It breaks down pretty well also. It's strange to break down, but it works, and fast.
The resale value is great. I resold the whole thing for $60 to a lady who was happy to get it for a deal.
Complaints? Not many. I did not find a safety hazard other than banging of the adult bare feet when walking by. It does become a living room fixture for several months, so try to figure out how to maneuver around it.
I do with that there were another height adjustment for a shorter or lighter kid. My daughter was maybe 6 or 9 months when we got this, and she didn't weigh enough to make her feet touch the floor. She was maybe 14 lbs. We had her using a dictionary stacked on an atlas to get enough floor height for her to be able to push off and bounce.
I would totally buy this again, and I recommend it all the time.
Customer Review: So-so product Summary: 3 Stars
I really had my hopes up for this jumperoo with its stellar reviews. We waited till she was about 3.5 months before setting it up (basically, when she had good head control). Well, this jumperoo continues to frustrate her at 4 months. We had to put something underneath her feet so that her toes would touch, but it seems that the jumping motion really doesn't excite her too much. I know that could just be my daughter's preference. However, it doesn't have much for entertainment either. She gets bored of the toys easily.
I agree with some of the other reviewers: the bug is like a dead flower, it just hangs over the side where she can't even see or reach it. The hiding tiger barely pops out when pushed..so boring. And even less stimulating is the rainbow wheel that spins around.
She did enjoy the hanging frog and parrot. She likes to stare at them, but they are too high to reach...it would have been nice to have hanging toys that they can grab and activate or interact with.
Lastly, the seat cushion is designed rather strangely. It's difficult to put her in and pull her out. The cushion sticks to her legs and comes up.
All in all, pretty disappointed and I will seek out an exersaucer that may satisfy her more. If she starts to enjoy this as she gets older, I will modify my review.
Customer Review: All Around Great Product!!! Summary: 5 Stars
We first bought one of these for my parents house and loved it so much we bought one for our house as well. I think this is one of the best inventions ever!!! We don't have a lot of doorways to hang the johnny jump-up on, plus my little one didn't seem to fit in or like them very well. We were looking for a jumperoo or exersaucer to entertain my then 4 month old. After reading reviews on several different products, we decided to go with the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo. I'm so glad we did!!! It was easy to assemble. I did it all by myself (twice). The frog chair holds our son up just right so he can play with all the toys without flopping over or falling through. The chair turns 360 degrees so he can spin and play with all of the toys. He loves playing with all the toys and is entertained in this jumperoo for hours. He has jumped himself to sleep numerous times in it. He loves to reach up and grab the bird and monkey that hang from leaves. He goes crazy when we first put him in it...jumping up and down like crazy! There is music that plays when he jumps. The height adjusts so as he gets taller he can still use it. He's now almost 9 months old and still loves playing in it. (I think he just fell asleep again in it right now!) I have no complaints with this product at all. I would highly recommend this to everyone!!!!
