| Promotes Comfort and Security The Rainforest Jumperoo is a safe and comfortable place for baby to sit and play, whether he stays for just a moment or for several minutes. Two soft leaves extend from the frame to create an overhead canopy with soft toys that dangle down for fun bat-at play. It also features a rotating seat with soft spring covers that keep little fingers safe from pinching, and three-position height adjustment for a custom fit. Stimulating Interactive Play Everything your baby needs at play-time can be found in this Rainforest Jumperoo. Its newly designed frame both allows you to open it up from the top, and lets the seat rotate 360 degrees so baby can play and interact from any side. A fun seat and toys at five locations on the platform engage baby all the way around, and an electronic toy at the front has motion, music and lights that can be activated by baby spinning a drum. (Mom or Dad can also activate an option for four minutes of continuous play.) Little explorers will also enjoy playing with the Jumperoo's many animals and toys, including a bobbling elephant, a monkey swinging from a vine, a parrot hanging from a bead bar, a clear spinning bead ball, a tiger that plays hide and seek, a spinning lizard that makes rattling sounds, a tethered chew toy, and a stack of chips with eye-catching graphics for baby to explore. Encourages Healthy Development The Rainforest Jumperoo is designed to help encourage healthy development. Moving, spinning, and jumping in a baby jumper enhances large motor skills. Secondly, the variety of textures integrated into the rainforest toys provide tactile stimulation, while the bright colors and fun music engage your child's visual and auditory senses. This educational system also enhances learning through discovery; baby's actions make things happen, helping him to understand cause and effect. Finally, reaching and grasping onto the baby jumper's toys fosters eye-hand coordination. Easy to Use, Move, and Store Parents will appreciate the quick take-down and portability of the Rainforest Jumperoo--the frame pivots to a nested position so it can be tucked away when not in use, and it simply folds so you can carry it from room to room. And no doorway is required to use this toy, making it a breeze to set it up anywhere. The Rainforest Jumperoo includes a motion sensor that encourages kids by rewarding them with lights and sounds when they jump, has a weight capacity of 25 pounds and maximum height 32 inches, and requires three "AA" batteries (not included). It also measures 32.0 x 43.125 x 37 inches (WxHxD).
Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Rainforest JumperooCustomer Review: If I had to choose one baby toy, this would be it. Summary: 4 Stars
OVERALL REVIEW
The short: The only reasons I'm not giving this a five are because of the potential hazard caused by the elephant and I think some of the toys could be a little better. And another reviewer made a good point about the skrews facing the baby, thus making it parent-centric, not baby-centric. But my daughter loves this! If I had to choose one toy for my baby, it'd be this jumperoo.
The long: My parents bought this off of Amazon for our baby girl last December, just as she was turning four months old. Hands down, this is her favorite toy. She's obviously having a fun time bouncing and playing with most of the toys. We love seeing her play in it and we put her in it once or twice a day. My parents are so jealous they didn't have this for us kids when we were little. It was easy to set up. It didn't take up as much space as I thought it would.
When we first put her in it, her feet didn't completely touch the floor so we just placed a large book underneath. For my now five-month, three-week-old baby, it's totally sturdy. I don't expect it to become unsteady with added weight, but I'll update this if I notice anything. It uses AA batteries in the toy that plays music. There have been complaints about the elephant toy pinching baby's fingers, and I can see how that can happen, and that is very concerning. Make sure your baby has good head control and support before putting her in this. This wouldn't be a good toy for a baby who doesn't.
REGARDING THE CONCEPT OF THE JUMPEROO
My baby gets a great workout in this and it's really strengthening her leg muscles. When she stands in my lap, she'll often pretend to bounce as though she's in the Jumperoo. It's so funny!
This has been such a hit that we are considering getting one for our kitchen. Right now we have it set up in our office upstairs. Yes, it's portable, and I've moved it up and down several times without too much inconvenience, but since we use it every day I don't want to always move it back and forth. If we do get another Jumperoo, I'll probably get another style only because I'd like to give her a variety of toys.
To further show you how much we love the concept of this toy, in a month we're going to visit my parents for only two weeks, and my parents bought the Fisher Price Precious Planet Blue Planet Jumperoo for our daughter to play in while she's there. I would have protested (only sort of) but it'll be the best toy they could have around for other grandchildren who may come to visit them. I'll update this review once our baby has tried out the Blue Planet Jumperoo, just to offer a comparison of the two styles.
REGARDING THE MUSIC
It's not as annoying as I would have expected from a baby toy. It's actually kind of catchy. There are two settings: You can choose to have it make noise every time the baby bounces in it or you could choose to have it play continuously. We have it on the first option.
REGARDING THE TOYS
My five month, three-week-old daughter loves the lizard, the sun, and the rainbow spin toys. She hasn't yet twisted the elephant, and I actually want her to avoid that since I've been reading reviews about it pinching fingers (and I can see how that would be the case. If it doesn't pinch the fingers then it might snap back really fast and hurt the fingers.) She touches the monkey and the bird hanging next to it. (I think those could be improved a lot more. They just kind of hang there.) She likes to hold the cloud and the green frame with both of her hands. She's never played with the tiger. She's grabbed the bird hanging above but hasn't grabbed the frog. She plays a lot with the bumblebee wings, but I can't help but think they'd be a little better if they crinkled.
REGARDING THE BOUNCING
She bounces like a jackalope.
IF I COULD MAKE TWO CHANGES
1) Better toys. Eliminate the elephant threat.
2) I wish Fisher-Price would offer another set of toys to place in the Jumperoo, just to add variety - and to get rid of the elephant. Right now it comes with all of the toys shown in the picture, but I imagine it would be easy to exchange them for another set. My daughter is not bored of the toys, not that I can tell, but I wonder if she will get bored of them in a few months.
UPDATE:
I recommend this jumperoo over the Blue Planet version. The toys in the Blue Planet weren't bad, but it didn't bounce as much and the music machine didn't work.
