Customer Review: Great for babies with reflux! I am finally getting some sleep!

My mother purchased this swing for me when my daughter was 3 weeks old and refusing to sleep (she would only sleep on me and then I couldn't sleep). My husband put her in our graco swing one day and she fell fast asleep. I was uncomfortable letting her stay in the graco for long because the incline was to high and she was slumped over even with receiving blankets all around her. So, I saw this swing at Babies r us and my mom bought it for me so I could get some much needed rest.
My daughter was diagnosed with reflux shortly thereafter and the doctor told me to let her sleep in her carseat. Well, she hated her peg perego carseat (she got to hot in it) and so we pulled this swing in our bedroom and put her in it. I was amazed when she slept 5 straight hours in it and now at 4 months is sleeping 7 hours a night. She would only sleep for 30 minutes to an hour at a time before we started putting her in the swing. So needless to day, it has been a lifesaver. At first, I would wait for her to fall asleep and then turn off the swing but continue playing the music because I was to nervous to go to bed with her swinging in it. But now I know that when she is strapped in, she isn't going anywhere and I let her swing all night. She is big enough now (15+ pounds) that the highest setting is perfect for her and I noticed that if I switch the swing to front to back rather than side to side it goes faster (she likes it fast). When I first put her in the swing however, ( at 8 pounds) the lowest setting was plenty fast so it really does grow with the child. My only worry now is that my fast growing 97% percentile daughter will outgrow this swing in a couple of months! But, it has already seen plenty of use. If your baby has reflux and will not sleep in his/her crib then try this swing!

At first we weren't interested in buying a swing because it takes up a lot of space and we live in a little apartment where space is a premium. When our little one was about a month he wasn't easily entertained. He hated his bouncer and loathed his crib. We decided to get a swing. A nurse suggested something that swings ear-to-ear and so our choices narrowed. We decided to spend the extra money, bought the Nature's Touch Papasan Cradle Swing and our son loved it from the get-go!
Here are addition reason why we love this swing and why we think it's worth the money:
-It adjusts from sitting to a "lie-down" position. It's great alternative for him to nap in.
-Aside from swinging our son can enjoy the mirror above him and the revolving mobile. There is a plastic toy tray which, now that he is older, he plays with (sometimes we don't even turn on the swing).
-There are multiple musical selections as well as various soothing sounds, like chirping birds.
-The safety straps are secure but easy to release.
-The motor is relatively quiet.
-There are varied speeds to adjust as our son grows.
-The neutral colors blends nicely in our living room.
The "not so great's":
-It takes up more space than traditional swings, however, it appears to have the same footprint as comparable side-to-side swings.
-The annoying automatic music turn-off feature; I've remedied this by not turning on the swing's musical and, instead, playing background music.
-Adusting from sitting to cradle is not a smooth transition. Don't get me wrong, it's not that it jumps up like when popping your hood, but for our light-sleeping baby I'm sure it feels that way.
Customer Review: Motor began smoking after 6 months of use

Like others, I hate to leave a bad review for what, until today, was an excellent product much beloved by our little one. We have a tendency to use this swing on average about once per day for up to 90 minutes and, aside from the occasional battery changes, it has worked very well and hassle free.
Today, I added four fresh D batteries, straight out of the package and listed as being good until 2014. After adding the batteries, I gave the swing a quick test (without baby) to see that it worked. I intended to place my daughter in it within the hour for her afternoon nap. With the product completely off, I detected that tell-tale burning electrical/plastic smell and I could see a cloud of drifting brown smoke coming from the swing. I quickly pulled of the cover and pulled out the new batteries--no issues in the battery compartment. After some further investigation, I concluded the smoke was coming from the motor compartment. Needless to say, our favorite swing has just become waste. A quick web search turned up reviews here with the exact same issue, so I thought I would add my voice. Given that this product could have caught fire with a baby strapped in and that my experience was clearly not a one-off situation, I now need to discourage others from considering this product. I will follow in the footsteps of others here and contact Fisher Price to report the incident.
UPDATE: We did contact Fisher Price regarding this product and they promptly connected us to their defective product team. We were sent a packing slip for sending portions of the device back to the manufacturer at no charge and were further mailed a check for the retail value of the device. Unfortunately, no way of knowing whether this helped in finding a manufacturing flaw.

I am the type of mother who read every review about products which is why I am making sure to type a review for my favorite swing! This swing is by far the best thing we could have purchased for our son. He is now 2 1/2 months old and still loves it. My neighbor has the Fisher-Price aquarium wonders and she wishes she had the Papasan! She and I agree it is much more comfortable and accomodating for little ones. My husband and I origianlly had the papisan chair which was terrible because it sat up too much so when I went to return it I saw this swing and had to have it.
My son cried a lot when he was first born. He wanted to be held all the time, which was not possible! Some days he wouldnt nap or anything but since we got the swing all that has changed! He naps like normal, just in the swing. It soothes him and it is so comfortable for him, I wish they made them for big people! He loves the music and nature sounds. He doesnt really look at the mobile which is fine because it just eats up the batteries. But I have to tell you, the swing went 4 weeks on the same batteries! We didnt have the mobile on but we did have the music. This swing is a must have for every new baby. The toys on the removable toy bar are fun and provide easy access to add more toys and rattles on. I am getting one for my pregnant sister and we will use it for the next baby. In fact, as I type this he is in the swing, smiling away and looking at me! My husband and I agree it was the best $120 we invested and we would pay 5 times that for how much he loves it. Since it gets used all the time, its worth the money. TRUST ME, dont buy a cheaper version, this swing is by far the best and worth the extra couple of bucks!!!
Customer Review: A MUST HAVE for any parent!

We purchased this swing for our daughter when I was still pregnant. I noticed that the swing had more features than any of the other swings, although, I did not think that she would need them (such as the two-way swing direction, rotating mobile and mirror, nature sounds, etc.). I thought that these were just extras that were geared to new parents who believed that their babies would benefit from all the extra "bells and whistles". Obviously, I was COMPLETELY against purchasing this swing due to the higher price tag and seemingly useless extras. My husband fell in love with the swing on the spot and insisted on getting it for his little princess. I eventually agreed, but thought it was a waste of money. BOY WAS I WRONG!!
This thing is absolutely WONDERFUL! Our little girl falls asleep in it as she is soothed by the nature sounds and the spinning mobile. She loves to stare at herself in the mirror overhead. It is definately one of the best... no wait... THE BEST purchase we made for our little girl!
The toy pockets are very handy for storing "binkys", toy bears and receiving blankets for quick access while she is relaxing. The swing is easily moved from room to room, which comes in handy when you need to take a shower and it easily sets right back up!
Check this swing out in the store before you buy it and you will also agree that the craftsmanship is very durable and high quality! Definatly worth the price!
Our friends have this swing also and they swear by it too! As a matter of fact, we know very few people who DO NOT have this swing! Everyone says it is a GODSEND! I agree and so does our little princess!
