Customer Review: It Saved My Sanity!! Love It!

I shelled out the not-so-affordable cost of $150.00 for this swing when it first came on the market because my husband and I were expecting a baby girl. I thought it was a bit steep for a swing (my son's cost me $50 when he was born and he hated it), but I decided that since family picked up most of the other necessities, it was do-able, and besides, it matched her crib set almost perfectly. I am SO glad I bought it.
My daughter turned out to have colic, and the only thing that worked was this swing. If she cried on one setting, we flipped it to the other. The lights and music seemed to keep her distracted from any distress from the colic, and every time we turn it on the look on her face is strictly wonder. She completely refuses to sleep in her crib or bassinette, so for the past 5 months, she has spent virtually every night in this swing. The best part is that it plugs into the wall, which is great because the last thing I need with 2 young kids is ANOTHER thing that eats batteries.
These are my only issues with the swing (and I'd still buy it over and over if given the chance)... 1) It's very hard to transport. It only folds in half, and my husband and I travel a lot to see family, so we usually have to take it apart or abandon it for the weekend (which results in no sleep for me). 2) The lace canopy I just had to remove recently because my daughter is a little grabby at 5 months old and constantly pulls it over herself and tries to suck on it, but no biggie. 3) After useing it every night for 5 months (which is about 150 nights at 8 hours per night) it gets a little squeak to it...WD-40 cleared it right up though.

The motor on our first swing broke. I think it may have been our fault since we'd placed the swing near our baseboard heating. The warnings page says not to place it near a heat source. We exchanged the broken swing for new one and have had no problems. Fisher Price's customer service was very helpful.
So far, our 2 month old loves the side-to-side motion. We have it on the lowest setting, and it has a large swinging motion. She also loves the mobile and lighted butterflies feature. I can put her in this awake, turn on the swing and mobile/lights, and she instantly smiles and lights up. She also enjoys the music. She will happily "play" listening to music and watching the lights and mobile for a good 1/2 hour. And best of all.....
It always puts her to sleep! This is often her napping spot during the day. And, with the plug-in feature, no need for batteries! I highly recommend this swing! 4 stars would have been 5 if the motor on our first hadn't broken.
Note- It is very pink. If you're a person who wants things to blend in with your current furnishings, this won't do that. But it is very cute. I have two older sons and found this on sale (pre-order) on Amazon for $114 and free shipping. Couldn't beat the price! I asked my oldest son, "Should we go for the pink?" and he said yes. She's my last baby, and my only girl, so pink it is!

I just had my third child and my husband told me "no more equipment!" but I couldn't get my newborn to sleep in anything for any length of time except her carseat after a long ride. With a busy 18 month old I need the baby to sleep when her sister is napping. Based on the previous reviews I bought this hoping that it would work. I couldn't be happier! The side to side motion in addition to the wide comfortably padded seat and pillow lull her to sleep. The music and nature sounds are just right - in fact my husband says the crickets put him to sleep. She's still too young to enjoy the lights and butterflies but I'm sure will love them in the next few months (her big sister is entranced!). It's also soooo cute and girly. Some of the previous reviews stated that the music turns off after a few minutes but mine does not turn off at all. I must have gotten a newer model with that enhancement. I've also not had a single problem with the motor up to this point (45 days and alot of use). The best feature is the plug in capability. No expensive big batteries to constantly replace! If there was anything that I could change it would be to add more toys to the tray. Again not really an issue now with a newborn but within the next few months she will be looking for something to play with. Overall this was a very good purchase and my husband said "that was the best purchase WE'VE made". Ha.Customer Review: Wonderful, adorable purchase!

I'm just editing my review to say that after 4 months of use, our motor completely went out as well. They're sending another but it does seem to be a known issue with this product. Hopefully this will fix us up and I still LOVE this swing but do watch out for the motor and don't hesitate to call if there is a problem
I just had my 3rd child--a girl after 2 boys--and I fell in love with this swing. It's just too cute and girly with the netting and the butterflies. I had no idea how it would work or if she'd like it, but I had to have it and it was actually the first piece of baby equipment I bought after the ultrasound. Now that my baby is 7 weeks old, I can say that this was a wonderful purchase. She uses it daily for several hours. She naps in it and it's perfect. It's soft and fluffy. The music doesn't turn off at all and she listens to it while she swings. I think it's part of why it works so well for her as a napping place--the music masks all the other household noises. I fortunately haven't had any problems with the motor. It's also so great that this can be plugged in or run on battery power. What a great feature! I've saved countless dollars on batteries at this point. She usually doesn't want to swing at night, but I have run the projection light show and it's adorable--little purple butterflies float everywhere.

This swing is my best friend. I have a 12-pound one-month-old who is collicky, and this not only relieves my aching arms (from carrying and holding her--which is sometimes the only way that I can calm her) but is also sometimes the only way that I can get her to nap in the afternoon. It's true that the motor is somewhat loud; however, I almost always have the music playing for my daughter anyways, and that seems to drown out the sound of the motor if you adjust the volume of the music to a higher level. It's also true that this swing is very pink and feminine, thus why we have come to call it the "princess swing," but I receive many comments from friends and family about how cute this swing is. My daughter loves all of the songs and sounds, as well as the lights. But, what I love about this swing (aside from the fact that it quiets my daughter) is that you are able to use it with batteries or plugged into the wall (which saves on batteries!)--an option that you'll find on very swings. My only real complaint is that the middle part of the seat is not as cushioned as the sides or head-rest, so I put a plush blanket down to make it more cushioned in that area. Despite that, I highly recommend this swing and think that you'll find it to be your best friend too!
