Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Newborn-To-Toddler Rocker, Animal FunCustomer Review: Wonderful Chair Summary: 5 Stars
We knew as this was our 2nd child, to get a chair they wouldn't grow out of. By default we got this since we didn't have much of a choice where we shopped. It was an awesome find by accident.
I love this chair because it does what we want, vibrates, straps in, reclines and sits up. This is all good for my newborn. What I didn't know until I got it home was that it rocks for your at-your-feet-nights, but it also stops rocking with stands if you want to place it on the counter at eye level.
The other handy thing is the toy bar. It swivels so you can get the baby out from where ever you are. At first I thought the canopy would move over his head more, but it is stationary. NO WORRIES, that toy bar serves me well in that area. In my sunny living room, when the baby falls asleep in there, I just take a blanket and cover the chair. The bar keeps the blanket FAR away from his face and blocks the sun perfectly.
Finally, it only takes 1 D battery for the vibration. I have had it on for HOURS every day for the last 6 weeks and I have only changed it one time.
Note: my older son did spill apple juice on it and you do have to disassemble to wash it.
Customer Review: LOVE this chair! Summary: 5 Stars
This chair has been AMAZING and worth every penny. We had a standard "bouncy chair" with our first son and it was fine and did the trick, but with our second, we tripped over it and bent it, so needed something new. Our second also had bad gas and reflux, so we new we wanted something snuggle-y for him, that would keep him at a good angle for his stomach and have the "vibrations" which is very helpful with the gas. This chair was perfect. I love the rocking feature, the slight canopy when in "newborn" mode (blocked out just enough while I had him out with me around 3am and I needed the TV on!), and all the variations in height. They have all come in handy for our kiddo. He actually slept in it for a matter of weeks while we were trying to get a handle on his extreme gas and reflux. He was perfectly comfortable and loved it. He still loves it as a very chubby 6mo old and it works perfectly to eat it, relax in, and watch his big brother in. He spends quite a bit of time there, as we have to keep him in certain positions to avoid irritating his reflux and spit up, and he has not tired of it. I recommend this chair to anyone I know who is pregnant or has a little one!
Customer Review: 16 Months and Going Strong Summary: 5 Stars
This chair earns the gold star for "most-used infant item" in our house. It was a lifesaver when our munchkin had her first newborn stuffy noses and had to sleep propped-up. Before she was rolling over, she enjoyed sitting upright in this chair to watch the world go by. The straps were safe and secure. Extending the legs into non-rocker mode made this chair stable even if she rocked forward. We gave the chair a little vacation during her very active creeping-and-crawling stage. But now, at 16 months, she is again using it as a TV chair.
The product is soft, sturdy, and versatile. Assembly was easy. The plastic is heavy and sturdy, but the chair is light and compact enough to move around the house with one hand. The seat's microfiber cover is easy to remove and machine wash on cold/gentle cycle. Colors are nice and cheery. Toy bar is good quality and it swings out with smooth action. For conversion to a toddler chair, the designers thoughtfully provided pull-through slots in the seat so you can stow the straps. Love it, love it, love it.
Customer Review: Because baby will need a place to sit/nap while mommy/daddy are doing housework Summary: 4 Stars
I received this for our baby shower and boy, it has been useful. We unpacked it the day after our baby arrived home, and we have been using it daily ever since. Sure, the Svan chair is super adorable and hip- but the weight limit on this one is higher than the Svan, and the cat & dog toy thingy is just too cute.
At first, baby had no idea what the dog and cat were, but finally he is developed enough to be able to reach for them and make the chime run. So cute.
We have been using it since Day One of our baby's arrival, and am so pleased to have gotten this for our shower. At 5 months and 22 pounds, we have a big little guy, but so far it has continued to be quite useful. I'm not sure about the claims that it will help baby poo, but it certainly keeps him busy if you need to do the dishes or make dinner!
Minus one star, because it is ridiculously difficult to clean and I pretty much just leave a blanket underneath him, should baby have a power poo accident whilst seated/napping.
Customer Review: Essential for our Preemies with Reflux Summary: 5 Stars
We had twins born at 28 weeks. When they came home, they were still very small and suffered from severe reflux. These chairs (we bought 2!) were a life saver! They could not sleep flat for the first few months due to reflux and other issues, making this chair the perfect angle. They rested very comfortably in these chairs. And, the portability was a huge bonus.
An added plus is that the vibration does not cut off. In the baby papasans, the vibration cuts off, often waking the baby after just 20 minutes. Also, when the babies caught a cold, the doctor recommended they sleep at an incline. The chairs were perfect. It was easy to transition them to the crib when they were older, although they still use these for naps at 6 months corrected age.
One downside is that our babies heads were still too floppy in the beginning. I added a head roll designed for a preemie in a car seat. We never used the toy.
