Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Long Distance 900MHz MonitorCustomer Review: very good value Summary: 4 Stars
I found this monitor to be a very good value. It is a good monitor and I would recommend it for naps, because the senisitivity and reception are very very good and you are awake and the white noise is not annoying when you are awake. But the white noise, or fuzz, or whatever you call it is still there (like every monitor I have ever had)even when the baby's room is perfectly quiet. I personally hate that. I want a monitor that is perfectly quiet without any fuzz because I don't like sleeping to the white noise/fuzz even if it is soft. The range is very good, the sensitivity is very good, no problems with interference with our phone or wireless networks or neighbors, It has low white noise compared to other monitors, and the night light is an unexpected bonus. I wish I could buy a second receiver, and I wish it had no white noise.
Customer Review: A decent long distance monitor Summary: 4 Stars
This monitor works for long distances, but it's not a very user friendly monitor. My children's room is about 180 feet from ours, so tge regular monitors I tried didn't work. This Fisher-Price one does, but it also has lots of static, so every night I wage a battle between turning it up enough to hear my kids but then needing to turn it down to quiet the static. The volume dial isn't very sensitive, so it's easy to turn the monitor up too high or down too low. The green light that shows the monitor is on is very bright, so I usually throw a towel over it or the room is bathed in a green glow. All that said, though, the monitor does work over "long" distances - we've gotten it to go about 300 feet - so I'm satisfied.
Customer Review: Best baby monitor yet! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best baby monitor I've ever heard. The microphone is extremely sensitive and the sound quality is excellent. There is absolutely no static and I haven't had any interference from other sources. It works just as well with either the wall adapter or on batteries and has great range. It has four different channels to choose from but I haven't had to change it at all. I live in a neighborhood where the lot sizes are 1/3 acre and the house are a good distance apart so this might help as far as not having any interference but with other monitors that I've had there is always a constant background hiss. This one is completely silent. I would highly recommend this monitor, especially for the price.
Customer Review: Good if you like listening to static! Summary: 2 Stars
I had high hopes for this monitor. We've been through 3 or 4 of them in the past 5 years. I like the range on this one. However, all I hear is static! We've tried everything but all we hear is alot of static and the sound the child makes is very hard to hear. When it's cranked up as loud as it gets, it's just loud static and baby crying sounds like a whisper. We've tried moving it around to avoid reception problems but no luck... doens't matter where it is inside or outside the house. I really want to get a second First Years 900 Mhz one but they no longer make the model we have - it was the best.
Customer Review: A great grandma helper Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this little item to help me monitor my 90 year old mother who lives with me but is in a different part of the house. She has taken a couple of spills and spent 10 hours on the floor one night because she couldn't rouse any one from their sleep. I have the monitor on by my bed at night and can very clearly hear her activities but can turn it down so I can sleep. If she is in distress she can call loud enough to awake me and I have a lot of peace of mind now. Got the idea from my two new grandson's and the monitor their mother has for them.
