Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker in Blue/RedCustomer Review: Truly Infant to Toddler Summary: 5 Stars
Bree slept in this rocker exclusively in her first 3 months of life (just would NOT take to the crib!), and it served well as a bassinet with the kickstand down. Later, when she finally accepted the crib (still no idea what that was all about!), she enjoyed rocking herself in it, or having us rock her in it, still in the reclined position, and the toys were always of interest to her.
Now, she's almost two years old, and the "toddler rocker" version of this piece of furniture is her favorite sitting place in the house. Once I understood how much she liked it as an infant, I finally broke down and bought a second one. One is at our house, and the second is at the grandparent's house where, again, it's the favorite seat in the house (barring grandpa's lap, of course!).
Choose the Infant to toddler rocker over a bouncer without hesitation....If I could "do it over again", this is one "baby item" I would choose again automatically.
UPDATE Jan. 2008: My daughter is now 4.5 years old and STILL loves her rocker!
Customer Review: I use this in my daycare Summary: 5 Stars
I'll start by saying that my model has a different design on it, but everything functions the same. I purchased this chair when I started watching a 5 month old baby. He absolutely loves it.
The three toys can be hung from the arch or clipped to the restraint so they aren't hanging in his face. He really likes to watch the older kids run around so I don't usually use the arch.
He likes to be rocked and the older kids love getting to rock him. He also likes to sit up in the chair. There are stoppers on the front and back so he hasn't ever tipped it over. I imagine that anything is possible though so I always keep an eye on him.
The vibrate function is great and very quiet. Sometimes I even forget that it's on. I wish it had an automatic shut off function for those times.
And the best part of the whole chair is when the baby goes home, the 2-4 yr olds I watch can use the chair too. It works for everyone and has been very durable with a daycare full of kids.
Customer Review: WONDERFUL Infant Chair! Summary: 5 Stars
I LOVE this chair, and so does my 4 month old daughter! What attracted me to this chair vs. some of the other bouncy chairs out there was the fact that it appeared to have multiple uses and can grow with the child. We use this chair every day, sometimes with the kickstand, sometimes without, depending on the situation. Our daughter loves to lay back in the chair and kick at the toys with her feet, but she's just as comfortable sitting up in it. The upright position works very well when she watches a Baby Einstein video or when I feed her since she's still a little small for her high chair. The only thing that I wish it had is a carrying handle somewhere on it. If you grab it by the toy bar, it comes unattached, and carrying it by one of the legs makes it a bit awkward to get through a door way. Despite that, I have been very happy with this chair and look forward to being able to use for for several more years. I have recommended this chair to all my pregnant friends and will continue to do so. It's great!
Customer Review: We love this rocker. Summary: 5 Stars
My baby (now 9 weeks) has loved this rocker since he came home from the hospital. I was wondering whether to go with a musical bouncer but with four children in an apartment, I decided to get something that could be used for a while and wouldn't need storing. I am so glad we went with this. The first toy my baby was really interested in (at a few days) was the cow that hangs on this rocker. He now smiles and coos at it all the time and it really holds his attention. The rocker is also very light so I am able to carry it with me from room to room and he enjoys staying near me. He hates sitting in his car seat, but he seems very comfortable in this and since he spits up a lot, I like having him a little upright. I also switch the toys with other toys I have that have velcro or fabric that will "hold" on to the velcro. My son will play in this happily for a long time and based on my experiences with my other kids, he will probably love having his own little chair when he gets older. Very highly recommended.
Customer Review: Wish I had this for my first child Summary: 4 Stars
This seat is very light and easy to move from one room to another. My toddler likes to sit in it and use the vibration as if it were a massage chair. My infant isn't as crazy about it but will sit in it long enough for me to do a quick chore like bringing in the groceries from the car. My infant prefers a softer seat like a traditional bouncer. The plywood seat on this rocker is quite hard. The only disappointment with this item is the toy bar. The cow plays an annoying rendition of "Old MacDonald Had A Farm" b/c one note is repeated as goes the tune. This note is rather piercing and may very well be damaging my child's hearing. I simply remove the cow from the bar. This cow and its electronic music was also used in another Fisher-Price farm-themed baby item years ago. I'm surprised they resurrected it. The toy bar is also a nuisance when it is not attached to the seat. FP should design a pocket or some way to attach the bar to the back of the seat so it isn't just laying around the house when not in use.
