Customer Review: This chair is a godsend
Summary: 5 Stars

We received this chair for our shower and marked it as an item that may or not receive use, as we already had a bouncy seat and a wooden rocking chair. It turned into my saving grace a few nights ago when my son, who is 8 1/2 months old came down with his first cold on top of teething heavily on his one year molars. After two extremely long nights of him refusing to sleep anywhere but my arms because I was able to cradle him and keep him in an upright position (elevating the mattress did NOT work even remotely), I got the idea to try this chair. When he was younger he would fall asleep in his bouncy seat constantly, as it cradled him and made him feel secure. I had my husband pull the chair into the middle of his bedroom, pull out the foot to make it stationary, and make sure the back was in the upmost position so his head was still elevated (at this point the chair is still reclined quite a bit). Then test time came. I carried my sleeping child into his room, placed him in his chair, and strapped him in. Since the back is fabric, much like his bouncy seat, the material cradled his body. His head was still upright so he was able to breathe without trouble as he slept. I tucked the blankets in around him, checked the floor to make sure the area around the chair was free from toys should he climb out. I was extremely hesitant to leave him all night while my husband and I finally got a good nights sleep, as he wasn't all that secure. It's just a strap that goes across his waist, but then I looked at it logically. If he climbed or fell out of the chair it was about a foor and a half to the floor, with nothing dangerous around. If he fell out of my arms while in a bed, it's a lot more and a foot and a half to the floor (not to mention the night stand that he could potentially hurt himself on). He has slept in the chair for 2 nights now and has been fine. He has finally been able to get the sleep he needs to feel better thanks to this chair. And if you ask my son, I'm sure he'd tell you it's a great place to crawl under and hide as well as something bright and fun to pull himself up on! Funny how babies find every use for a piece of furniture except for the one that it was intended for!

Customer Review: A chair of her own!
Summary: 5 Stars

Our daughter had serious issues when it came time to pass her Ocean Wonders and Papasan bouncers down through the family. We had them both sitting in the foyer for a couple of days and every time she say them she had to climb in or stop to play with the fishy. But we noticed she seemed to like the idea of a chair of her own that she could get herself in and out of. So we began the search for a chair of her very own...her big girl chair.

We tried those foam sofa looking things but she pretty active and flipped one in the store. So we moved on to the big upholstered arm chairs. She liked it but she needed a little help getting in and out and Miss Independent didn't much like that. We were about to leave empty-handed when the associate mentioned this one. We had seen them when we registered for her birth but they seemed kind of pointless and less that entertaining in comparison to the bouncers so we passed. But we headed back to give it a try.

She LOVED it and we bought it. She can get herself in and out of it with ease and she loves the vibrate function. She is so very proud of herself that she knows how to turn it on and off by herself. It took her a little longer to figure out how to make it rock but after about a week she that down pat too.

She'll loves dragging this thing into her room to play or into our bedroom to sit and watch TV with daddy. She has even started climbing up in it when she is sleepy. She gets her bottle and her blanket, turns on the chair and sits there rocking herself to sleep!

So for an older child we think this chair is great. But knowing how active she was as an infant we think she needed the bouncer. But given the price of both this really is an item you can afford to upgrade too with age.

This is an item you also might want to watch as you visit the baby stores. We have 4 friends with these chairs and we all have different design patterns. It seems to be an item that they change often which means you'll find them on clearance often. Our chair is actually green and purple as opposed to the blue and red but we got it for $19.98.

Customer Review: MOST USED ITEM - WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Summary: 5 Stars

THIS CHAIR IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! We've used it daily since we brought my daughter home from the hospital. She's 9 months now and still loves it!

It has a kickstand so you can lean it back for a smaller baby/infant. Our daughter took all of her daytime naps in it for the first few months. We used the Snuzzler infant support pillow with the chair to make it more comfortable. It reclines far enough that we didn't need to strap her in every time like her regular bouncy seat. It made it very handy since we had a nice place to put her down quickly.

My daughter's head would flop around in her regular bouncy seat. This chair reclines far enough that we didn't have that problem. We would cover the chair with a blanket (toy bar removed) to take pictures. The Snuzzler pillow made her head stable so the pictures turned out great!

The toy bar is easy to install/uninstall. You just pull it out of or insert it into the two holes. The toys are a bit difficult for a younger baby to reach, but she still enjoyed looking and batting at them. We didn't use the toy bar much in the beginning, but use it most of the time now.

The chair is also easy to carry from room to room. Now that my daughter is older, I do strap her into the chair. She sits in it while I shower, cook, etc. She loves the toy bar and somehow manages to get one or two of them off to chew on. It also makes a good TV chair before they are able to sit up on their own.

Another plus is that it also vibrates like the other bouncy seats on the market.

The nicest thing about this chair is that it is an actual chair. The bouncy seats have a limited lifespan. My daughter outgrew hers by 6 months. The infant-to-toddler rocker will be used for a few more years. Her 2+ year old cousin sits in it every time he visits. It's also nice that we still have an infant chair so my friends with younger babies can use it when they visit.

This chair has been worth every penny. We've used it daily for 9 months! I highly recommend it and tell my friends that it's a MUST HAVE!

Customer Review: Life-Saver!
Summary: 5 Stars

This rocker has been so helpful to me when I need my hands free and a safe place to put my daughter! I registered for this because I knew three other babies that had it and loved it. We started using it when our daughter was one month old. Friends/family had stopped coming around to help each day so I could no longer just hand the baby off when I needed to eat, go to the restroom, or do the dishes, etc., and baby would scream if I put her down. So I started putting the rocker next to me and rocking it with my foot while I made/ate my meals each day or typed at the computer. Now that she's older (12 weeks) and content for longer without being rocked, I can even put her in her rocker just outside the shower and talk/sing to her while I get ready. She's never really liked the vibration feature as the other babies I know do, but she loves to rock. If you place it on a hard floor baby can rock herself when she kicks. The toy attachments still seem to overstimulate her at this point (she stares at them way too hard and gets very frustrated) so I just dont use them. Since I breastfeed, I still hold my baby most of the day, but when I need to get things done where she can still be right next to me this rocker has been a real life saver. Even if you're a big proponent of slings and wraps as I am, there are times when it's safer not to "wear" your baby, e.g. eating, cooking, restroom. A couple things I recommend: put a soft hand towel or blanket under a younger baby's head in it because the fabric is a little rough on their heads/hair if they move around a lot--just be sure you're with them at all times if you do. If your baby falls asleep in the rocker, you'll probably want to roll up a soft cloth and place it between their head and the frame so their head and neck are supported.

Customer Review: More of a convenience item than an enjoyable seat for baby.
Summary: 3 Stars

When our son was first born I would recline him back and he would either sleep while I got things done or would watch the toys above his head. Now he's 7 months old and I'd consider this more of a convenience rocker than anything else. It slides around the house very easily so I take him to the bathroom with me, the kitchen, etc. The vibrator doesn't interest my son yet. He's not old enough to rock yet, but I'm sure he will. My son has not been active enough to flip it forward like some of the other children in these reviews. He gets a bit bored in it, so if I'm planning on cooking or doing something for a long period of time then I pull out his exersaucer type thing. The toys don't cut it for him anymore so I give him his own toys while he's sitting in it watching me shower.

I only have one complaint. I have been using this for feeding my son since he wasn't able to sit on his own yet for the high chair. It has to be in the upright position (rocker position) for feeding, therefore it won't lock in place. I have to sit on the ground and straddle my legs under it sometimes when he's active to keep it steady and to keep the food from getting all over him.

If I were to shop all over again I would check out all the bouncers and try to find one that locks when put in the upright position. You'll need to think about feeding your baby in it before he or she is ready for the high chair. One more tip...you'll need a bouncer to push around the house for your baby before they crawl so you can get things done. Make sure your bouncer can hold a baby until they're AT LEAST 9/10 months. My baby is 7 months old and is showing no signs of crawling soon. He is 17 lbs and about 27" long, so this one is great for that.
