Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat, Blue/Green/GrayCustomer Review: A Must-Have for a Traveling Mother Summary: 5 Stars
I hate spending money, but I decided to try this product for various reasons:
1. We eat out frequently and my son hates the high chairs provided. He constantly tries to climb out of them. I felt that if he had a chair that he was comfortable in, we wouldn't have so many issues.
2. My son doesn't like to use plates and eats straight from his "table". The portable tray and cover would ensure that he's eating off a clean area.
3. Our current high chair, although luxuriously comfortable with tons of features, was a pain to clean and the tray was so large that I couldn't fit it into the sink. I ended up giving it away.
4. My son loved this chair from day one. When I took it out of the box and put it on the floor, he was already sitting himself into it. He had quick affinity for it. I take it EVERYWHERE with us.
BUT...don't think that it doesn't come with a few issues.
1. The white tray is great, but I can't use it anymore because my son knows how to pull it right off and toss it.
2. The tray is just a little too small for some of the plates that I had previously bought and they do not sit flat.
3. The blue holder is hard to get on at times over the knobs.
4. I bought this when my son was 14 months old, fully mobile and able to sit up. I wouldn't recommend it for babies that need an incline.
With everything said, I love the product and would definitely buy it again.
Customer Review: My favorite baby item Summary: 5 Stars
9/04 - I had my heart set on a traditional high chair, but my cousin advised me to just get a convertible chair that sits on a regular chair. I bought this chair, and I absolutely love it. We have had it about two weeks, and so far, we have used it at the dining room table, on the floor, in restaurants, at friends' houses, and took it with us on vacation. Try taking your regular high chair on vacation! We use it both for meals and play time.
My daughter is 7 months old, around 15 lbs. and can sit up well on her own. I was a little worried when I bought it that it might be a little too big for her, but the straps and tray adjust so that it fits her perfectly. It folds and unfolds very easily. She likes to lean over the edge, and it is very sturdy, doesn't tip. Sometimes I forget that she's fastened in and try to pick her up, but I can't, so it keeps her very secure.
Taking it to restaurants has been the best part. We have been to restaurants that don't have highchairs, or have big wooden highchairs. I just hate putting her in those, because I feel there is too much room for her to wiggle out, lean over, etc. The only minor disadvantage is that it is one more thing to carry on top of the baby, diaper bag, etc. But I'd much rather carry an extra piece than put her in a restaurant high chair.
Update 6/30/05 - at 16 months old, we still use this for my daughter and it shows hardly any wear. Still highly recommend!
Customer Review: No need for a high chair! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite baby products. We have a tiny kitchen with a small island that has two stools for my husband and myself. We absolutely have no room for a high chair. With this booster seat, there is no need! This seat is sturdy enough that we can sit it on top of the island and feed baby. It does not slide around on a flat surface.
*Disclaimer* -obviously once your child is big enough for his/her feet to reach the table surface, there is the risk that he/she could potentially push the seat over backwards, but for now, with our little one's legs sticking straight out, it works great with our infant. We will have to move to the dining room table when she gets bigger.
The trays are very easy to clean as is the seat. Just a quick wipe and it's clean or throw the trays in the dishwasher. We also find it quick and easy to fold up and we take it when we eat out. It's also very light weight and easy to set up quickly. No digusting sticky public high chairs to use! Whenever we travel to the grandparents' or a friend's we have our "high chair" ready to use. The strap that hooks beneath the chair has velcro on it so you can secure the excess strap (after tightening) off the floor where it won't dangle and get dirty.
The "layers" of tray and tray cover snap together easily and come apart easily too. Also, this chair is much cheaper than any high chair on the market.
Highly, highly recommended.
Customer Review: Booster seat and portable high chair all in one! Awesome! Summary: 4 Stars
I LOVE this booster chair! We actually use it more right now as a portable high chair, and have been so pleased with its performance. We take it to church luncheons, restaurants, other people's houses, etc. and always get positive remarks about how handy it is. We have put it on a wide variety of different chairs and never had any trouble securing it to any of them. It's very easy to set up and take down, and folds neatly for compact carrying. It has two trays, so if you're traveling and can't clean the first tray before you need to use it again, the second is ready to go for the next meal. I love that it has the snap-on cover to keep the tray clean during transit. The cover also keeps crumbs and food particles put after use too, if you can't clean it right away. The whole thing is also very easy to clean. The trays are diswasher safe. Since the chair can be used with or without the tray, when my son gets bigger and graduates out of his high chair, this will be the booster seat he will use at the table everyday.
The one thing I wish it had is a latch or something to keep the white tray attached to the blue one a little more tightly. It comes off very easily and now that my son is a little older, he can pop it off himself, and he does. We have gone to using the blue tray more often for this reason. That's the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. Overall, I love this chair and would recommend it to anyone.
Customer Review: Better than all the others out there! Summary: 5 Stars
We have had 3 different booster chairs between our house and my 17 month-old daughter's 2 grandmother's houses and this one is by far the best. I won't restate what all the other reviewers have said because I agree with all of them, but I will list the reasons I love this chair over all the others:
1) It has 3 height settings to use with different tables or chairs. We use this without the tray at home and I can scoot my daughter up to her belly at the big table. Others that have the attached tray must be used with the tray at all times. It makes her feel like such a big girl to be sitting with us!
2) The straps adjust very easily and quickly for installation and removal. Simply let out the length of the straps, snap them around the back of the chair and underneath the chair, then pull out the slack. Tight and secure in seconds.
3) This chair folds up so easily and you can lengthen one of the straps to carry it over your shoulder. Frees up your hands to carry other things. This is handy when you are traveling and have to make several trips to and from the car with all of the gear you travel with when you have a toddler!
4) This one is more sturdy than other boosters. This is made of thick, sturdy plastic and still looks new after being taken on our past 4 trips (in and out of houses, hotels, restaurants and the car).
I highly recommend this booster!
