Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat, Blue/Green/Gray

Customer Review: We love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

Our first house had a huge kitchen and dining room but our new house didn't! We used her highchair as long as we could because I loved it. But after about 2 months it just got in the way too much!

We had the hook on chair for dining out but I really didn't want it for the house. I started looking at boosters and this was the best we found!

The tray is awesome! That was the main reason I held on to her chair for so long! It makes feeding her a snap. She eats what we eat before I season it so when everything is ready you just grab the tray and fill it up. It cools while I season and get everything to the table. She then sits at the table with us and eats. When your done it pops off and goes right in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes. It's also great for potlucks!

It can be adjusted to fit almost every table. We've used it at church, home, grandma's and friend's house and we've yet to find a table it won't adjust to fit. We've used it without and without the tray and she fits fine everywhere.

It is also super portable! You can have it unhooked and folded up to go in seconds! Then once you're there you can have it unfolded and hooked to a chair just as quick! It doesn't take up much room in the house or car. We also have yet to find a chair that it can't hook to. In fact one of our favorite restaurants (small family owned place) bought a couple of these to use as boosters after seeing ours.

These seats really are great whether your cramped for space or just ready to move up to a big kid seat!

Customer Review: As close to perfect as it gets!
Summary: 5 Stars

We love this Booster Seat. It's reasonably priced and has every feature that parents in the real world demand.

The good:
1) It travels well, as it can be completely folded in and it's straps used to carry it over a shoulder like a pack.
2) It can be set at 3 different heights for different tables and for your growing toddler.
3) It straps on securely and most importantly - QUICKLY!
4) All straps adjust, both to the chair and to your child.
5) It doesn't have any cloth or nasty nooks that are hard to clean... Just a quick wipedown is all that's usually necessary.
6) Has a detachable tray with a food tray that comes with a cover. So you can play with playdough for 5 minutes before dinner on the main tray, and then break out your covered dinner when you are ready! Very convenient and sturdy.
7) Solid construction. Our VERY strong 2 year old can't get out of it or break parts off.
8) The straps will come off (with a little work) so they can be tossed in a washer
9) The food tray is dishwasher safe
10) It will grow with you as a booster seat even if you don't use it as a stand alone "high" chair.

I can't think of anything bad about it and that's saying something in the parenting world. Buy it and never look back. In fact, we just put in an order for our second one so we can leave one in the car so we are never without. It's simply fantastic. Our little one has started requesting this seat instead of his (soon to be retired) high chair. He loves eating dinner at the same table with his Mom and Dad.

Customer Review: Best buy for price, portability, look and ability to clean
Summary: 5 Stars

After contemplating a portable booster/high chair and reading reviews on the different brands and went with this one and am SO satisfied! I love that I don't have a big ugly plastic high chair with nowhere to hide it. When I fold down the back of the fisher price booster, it's hidden under the dining table and my home looks normal. When folded up, it fits perfectly in our stroller basket. We bring it with us everywhere: friends and families homes for dinner and restaurants (better than the unsanitary restaurant chair). I've even packed it into my suitcase when flying to visit relatives! It's nice for my daughter to have a familiar chair to eat in even if we're in an unfamiliar location.

When I bring it out to restaurants to meet my other mommy friends, they all gush over it. I'm so proud of my wise purchase. I love how the trays fit in the dishwasher - then I know everything is sanitized. I also like how when she grows out of it, it will fit in a small cupboard, where I can pull it out for guests. She's been sitting in it since 4 months (the tray holds her in) but my friend's 18 month old fits in it just as well. At only $25, we'll probably buy a second for our next child and it still won't interfere with our home's decor.

The only concern which my husband has is that if you don't attach it to a really stable chair, he's afraid one day that she'll knock herself over. But I think that's a concern that one should have with any high chair and never leave their baby unattended (althought the big high chairs definatly do look more stable).

Customer Review: Good but not great
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this booster seat after reading some of the reviews on Amazon. I was excited to use it at grandma's house and also potentially out at restaurants. It's been used for two mealtimes, and here are my initial impressions. My 10-month-old seemed to like sitting in it at first. He especially liked being up near the table while the rest of the family enjoyed their dinner. However, within 5 minutes, he pulled off the removeable tray and threw it to the floor. Luckily the bottom tray is attached in such a way that he can't remove it (at least not yet). It seems that the tray cover and removeable tray are unnecessary (and too easy to remove), but luckily the bottom tray is also easy to clean. I'll probably just end up removing the tray and the cover before mealtimes. During the second feeding, he was not as excited about sitting here and started flinging his head back into the chair behind him. This banging of his head, of course, made him even less happy and an unfortunate tearful cycle ensued. Luckily we had a little camping pillow (looks like a lumbar support pillow) that we put between the back of the booster seat and the back of the chair. That seemed to work pretty well although it wasn't secured in any way, so we had to put it back into place a couple of times. All in all, I can see why this booster seat is not a substitute for a regular high-chair to day-to-day use, but I do think it serves the purpose of providing a seat for the baby at homes or restaurants where he otherwise wouldn't have a suitable or safe place to sit.

Customer Review: great for infants and toddlers
Summary: 1 Stars

We bought two of these seats to travel with for our 2 year old twin boys. We like them so much, that we packed away the highchairs, and use these seats everyday now too! We just bought a third seat for our four month old daughter who is starting on cereal. She is not sitting up on her own yet, but is able to sit in this seat quite securely when strapped in and with the tray in place. She loves to sit in her chair and eat with her brothers, or just play with a toy on her tray.

The contour of the seat is comfortable for little bottoms. There is plenty of room for our toddlers to sit, but not too much room - enabling them to squirm and turn around. (A major complaint we had with traditional highchairs.) The tray snaps on and off easily, but is secure enough that a child can't get it off himself. My boys can put the tray on by themselves, but cannot get it off - they have tried!! The different positions available for tray seem adequate. We put the tray on the middle tabs with our two year olds and they have plenty of "gut room". The child straps are great for extra security for an infant, or when not using the tray. The straps used for securing the seat to a chair work nicely on a wide variety of chairs.

There are a couple of things that are not "perfect". The cup holder on the removable tray is too small for some sippy cups. We just use the main tray. The back of the chair folds down a little too easily. When our boys try to get in their seats by themselves, the back often folds down when they hold onto it.
