Baby Products Reviews of Fisher Price Cradle n Swing, My Little LambCustomer Review: OK, we did need this thing Summary: 5 Stars
We were hesitant at first to spend over a hundred dollars on a product for our newborn that she may or may not like. We were also wary of people telling us that we HAD to have a one of these fancy papasan swings for her. However, when the fussiness and crying escalated sharply at 3 weeks, we purchased this out of desperation. Well, I have to say that the baby loves this swing. She will nap in it, calm down in it, and chirp cheerfully when she is awake in it. We have been using it after her dinnertime feeding to rock her to sleep before putting her in her crib later. My only fear is how to train her to go to the crib directly when she out grows this. The battery life isn't long, but we have gone over a month on a change of batteries. My husband at first refused to get this swing because of the cheesy " little lamb' theme. Particularly revolting to us was how the seat is designed to look like a your baby's body becomes part of a sheep's head. However, we discovered that if you fold the ears back on the pillow, you can reduce the cheese factor dramatically. Obviously, the baby could care less about the design, but after all, we are the ones who have to live with it in our living room. All in all, we found it to be a good product. If you find that your baby doesn't like the swing or use it for very long, these are clearly hot items to consign to second hand baby stores.
Customer Review: Great Swing Once Baby is Heavy Enough Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the My Little Lamb model for my newborn. When he was 7 1/2lbs I tried to put him in the swing but even on the lowest setting it was going WAY too fast and he didn't seem to like it either. I tried the swing again about 3 weeks later when he was around 10lbs and on the lowest setting it was perfect. My baby falls right to sleep and stays asleep. He loves to look at himself in the mirror on the mobile and listen to the nature sound with the stream and birds.
Pros:
- One button to change the swing from front to back to side to side
- Sturdy and stable
- One step to change from laying down to sitting up
- Has an option for the swing to stay still but the music and/or mobile to still be on
- Reset button to restart the music and/or mobile
- Very plush and comfy
- Decent battery life
Cons:
- Too fast for a baby under 9-10lbs in my opinion
- Would be great if it had an a/c adapter. It is a large swing and won't be moved around the house so it would be very practical to be able to plug it in rather than having to keep replacing batteries.
All in all, I love the swing and so does my baby. I would definately purchase this swing again. He sleeps longer in this swing than in his bouncers, crib or carseat so I have more time to take a nap or get things done around the house.
Customer Review: Super Soft and PLUSH! Summary: 5 Stars
This review is for the new Little Lamb Cradle swing. We had a fisher price aquarium swing- motor burnt out- 2 free replacement motors sent by fisher price- both had something different wrong with them. Fisher price then sent full refund on that swing so we could get this new one. We are very pleased so far with this swing. Good battery life and you don't even have to turn on the moving mobile because it wiggles on its own when swinging so can save battery life there! The mirror in the globe entertains as well with no battery usage needed! The music is beautiful and I love to listen to it myself! Swing is strong and sturdy...it has no trouble swinging my 18 lb 7 month old baby girl and that's not even on the highest speed yet!! The seat is comfortable and well padded- very plush and soft to the touch. The toys are a little bland- not colorful so we just added some of our own colorful toys for our baby to play with...easy! Tray comes on and off easily...seatbelt can easily accomodate chubby tummies...we also like that the seat can lay way back for tiny newborns and sleeping babies or sit up really well for older babies who want to play. We really love this swing and our little princess does too! This swing is going to outsell every other one because it is soooo nice.
Customer Review: Great product, possible shipping damage Summary: 4 Stars
This swing is wonderful for newborns - 4 month olds. My son is 4 months old today (~15lbs.) and still likes to swing and sleep in it, but he his getting a bit big for it. Look out for when your baby might lean forward and slump their head in their lap in this or any other cradle swing.
The swing shipped on time but arrived with one corner crushed in. The motor on the swing is noiser than a neighbor's similar swing. This noise may or may not be due to the shipping. The noise is not too much but is why I did not give this swing a 5.
YOU MAY NOT KNOW: Underneath the cradle, near the head end, is a plastic part with raised bumps. This part is a like a clamp. You can squeeze it to adjust the incline of the cradle if you wish to have your little one lay down more versus sit up a little more. I assembled the swing but did not see/read any reference to this adjustable clamp. My husband found it. It may be useful to know.
I don't know what the netting is for. Decoration? If it has a function, I haven't found one.
I LOVE the overhead mirror, and your little one (especially around 1-2months) will too. Not all cradle swings have this mirror.
The cover is easily washable.
Would recommend!
Customer Review: Life saver Summary: 4 Stars
This swing is the best! Our LO has loved it since birth on a daily basis and takes many naps in it. It is soft and cozy for baby and the seat area can be removed and cleaned if needed too. The pillow is removable on Velcro, or also so you can adjust it for the height of your baby which took us a few weeks to discover. Our baby doesn't care for the play tray at all so we never pop it on. The motor is louder then I would have thought, but we don't have another swing to compare it to. My MIL said it was really quite in comparison to how swings use to sound so maybe it is actually quieter then some other models out there. My baby just started to like the mobile a couple weeks ago when he was 1.5 months old, before that he could care less about it. The music/nature sounds are not bad. Our baby doesn't seem to mind if it turns off after 10 mins so that has not been an issue for us like some people who find the music doesn't stay on long enough. Also the batteries last for awhile in it, he has used it daily for 2+hours almost every day and we just replaced the batteries for the first time yesterday at almost 2 months of use. Also its great that you can switch the direction that it swings very easily, side to side swing or forward and back swing- he loves both!
