I bought this for our third son. When I read the reviews I was a little leary of the "pee shield," however, after seeing this potty in the store, I thought I'd take my chances. Amazon.com had a fantastic price that I could not pass up!
I had potty trained my first two sons right after their second birthdays and had great success using another Fisher-Price potty. I had every intention of training our youngest immediately following his second birthday as well. As my other two boys are 8 and 10 years older than my youngest, I was in need of a new training potty. After receiving the Cheer for Me! potty, we fell in love with the adorable design! Our, then, almost-two-year-old wanted to immediately "use" the potty!
Yes, the seat does comes off very easily. In my opinion, that's a GOOD thing as it makes for really easy cleaning. And as for the "pee shield," I had absolutely NO problems with it whatsoever. I do not know why several reviewers disliked the design or why they had issue with it, but we had no problems. Perhaps it was because my son, having just turned two years, was a bit smaller than the children who were having problems with the shield? It may be dependent upon the size of your child. My two year old is just a bit over average in his weight and is average height...perhaps that will be helpful to someone??
The music is adorable and my son sang along with it. The potty has two different songs that alternate. One sings about the toilet paper, the other about being "big" and using "my own potty." The potty instructs the child to "flush the potty" when the song ends saying, "Now it's time to flush the potty!" Thus, my son would sit and wait for the instruction and proceed to "flush" his potty. He has now been trained for three weeks. While he still occasionally uses his Cheer for Me! potty, we are using the "big" potty now, especially for "#2."
The Cheer for Me! potty is a wonderfully fun training tool that was immensely successful in assisting us in potty training our 2 year old. I found nothing negative about the design. I can absolutely say it ranks with the best training potties!

I bought this potty chair for my Granddaughter who is 17 months old and beginning to potty train. First of all it looks just like a big potty, only it's their size. The perfect size at that. Her feet touch the ground perfectly. It has a cute smiley face on the 'tank' part, which is a great back rest. The lid easily opens and closes just like a big potty. It also has a handle so the child can 'flush' and on the opposite side of the 'tank' a retractable toilet paper holder that holds any size toilet paper roll. If you don't want to put the paper on it, just push holder in and it's gone! The other awesome feature is it fits perfectly to a big size toilet seat. At first I wasn't sure it was going to fit, I thought my seat was to small, but then I pushed it down until it snapped into place and WOW...it fits nice and snug! Doesn't move around or slide at all!! AND there are NO gaps between the little seat and the big seat. It's a perfect fit. To remove it, simply squeeze in the clips underneath and take it off. On top of ALL of these great features, it also has a sensor so it sings once the child goes potty. You don't even need a lot. I poured in a very small amount to test it first to see how loud it was or how much it would take to set it off and it goes off immediately once anything touches the sensor, which is located at the center bottom of the removable bowl. It plays a little child's voice singing a happy song, tells them to use paper and flush and is not to loud or annoying. For kids that might be frightened of it, you can very easily turn it off on a switch under the unit.The product is strong and will last through several potty trainers. Got this because I thought it would be a great to start and then transition to the big potty. Well maybe for a girl but not for my little man. First of all he took the thing apart within the first 10 minutes and then he did it over and again- so it was much more fun take apart rather learn how to use the potty. The other part is the deflector shield also is very easy and tempting to remove. So we never even got to use this potty for its intended purpose. We did use just the top on the toliet for a short while, when just starting out to practice going potty. But after taking it on and off the tolet so many time we then started to notice on the underside of toliet seat,where the clips that hold it in place so well had started to strip the paint, ugh.. so that was offically the end of using the potty for any purpose. We have since bought just a cheap padded insert for the toliet which has a cute design that he loves, and foot stool to get up, and we are now offically doing well with potty training. This potty was of no help, was actaully a set back and waste of my money. But still will give it 2 stars as it is adorable and I am sure it will work for others it just did not work for us.Customer Review: GREAT PRODUCT!

Purchased this for my daughters baby shower...I have a friend who used and now using it again for child #2 and the kids love it! So seeing it with my own eyes how they love this I had to purchase it...It looks just like a real potty only with a smiley face! it has a handle so child can flush with flushing sound, lid opens and closes easily..fits perfectly on a regular toilet seat you just need to push it down until it snaps/clicks and its nice and snug so it doesn't slide from side to side or come off..to remove it just push the clips underneath and it comes right off..my favorite part to this is the music senor...the kids love this the most and want to potty only for that purpose...once a child goes potty it just takes little not much to sound off the music..it has a few different tunes too! this product is strong, and easy to clean. I highly recommend this product! If I didn't see how my friends children (which I've babysat many times) love this and use it I would have never thought of purchases this myself.Customer Review: Great! Our daughter is 23 months old. We had a cheap potty and she went on it once in a while. However, daycare has real toilets, just toddler sized. She always goes on their's. Lately, she has asked to go to the potty, but when I ask her to sit on that one, she cries and says no. The big potty is way too big for her even with a toilet insert. So, I purchased this one after reading all of the reviews. When the box came tonight, I had her help me open it up. She was immediately taken with it. I said "this is your own potty". As soon as we had it set up, she sat right down on it. When the music came on for her going potty, she got the biggest smile on her face and started clapping. She proceeded to go potty 3 more times tonight!!! The hardest thing may be getting her off of it. She also likes the handle for flushing, as that has always been her favorite part. I would highly recommend; the beauty is that it is the closest to a real potty as you can get.
