Our daughter is now 6 months old and we got this swing as a shower gift. I'm not comfortable with writing online reviews for products that I haven't used much.
I would register for this swing again....we really haven't used the "swing" function...she really likes to sit in it and watch and play with the fish. I will say that she's just now able to grab at the fish and pull them to make the music come on by itself. And I know the weight limit is like 25lbs and a lot of 6 month olds are nearing that weight so I'm glad she is on the smaller size and we will get more use out of it.
The only thing I would change is I wish it played more upbeat music.....all of the music is soft, going to sleep music.

I read some reviews of this in 2004 that said it was dangerous and that a baby could slide sideways in the seat, so when I got one for a shower present, I took it back. But then I was given another one and finally tried it. There is NO WAY a baby could fall out of this that I can see. The seat sinks down when they are in it so the baby is perfectly cradled, plus there is netting on the sides. My baby loved this swing. There were many nights when the only way she would stop crying was sitting in this seat and watching the lights. It was very soothing to her and relieving to me! The only thing I wish is that they would make a swing with an AC adapter so I wouldn't have to go through so many batteries!Customer Review: Swing to Sleep

This swing quickly puts our son to sleep and so I would recommend buying it just for that! We have had it since the day he was born and he is still using it at 9 months (it does have a maximum weight of 25lbs). Earlier on he couldn't interact with it very much but know he is bigger he can pull on the fish to turn on the lights and music.
The seat is easy to remove for washing and easy to get back on.
The only drawback is that when he is in it it is very heavy to move. If I wanted to move him to a quieter place, I was staggering with it. But then, my muscles are like knots in cotton.
So, when all else failed to get him to sleep, the swing always worked.

I bought this swing for my 3 week old daughter after returning the fisher-price flutterbye cradle swing. My daughter loves this swing. She would not sit in the other swing at all it was to fast and had no lights and you could not hear the music. This swing is perfect for her. The speeds are great, not to fast, and she loves the flashing lights. She can actually hear the music on this swing and she likes to look at the fish. I think every mother needs a swing for her baby it is a must have item. They keep baby happy and safe so you can have five minutes to yourself. Just make sure you get the right swing. Our daughter has been in this swing since she was about two weeks old. Her larger (and way more expensive)swing had her sitting too upright and her head hung down and her chin rested on her chest - it didn't look comfortable at all. But with this travel swing, she was reclined enough to really enjoy swinging.
I agree with others that it's easy to move around and pack up to take to Mom-Mom's house. It's also great to keep next to the dining room table so my husband and I can enjoy a nice dinner together, while keeping our baby happy.
This is by far one of the best things that we've received for our baby girl.
