I received this as a shower gift and didn't have the reciept. The very first time I used it my daughter loved it!! But the next day it wouldn't work. I thought I forgot to turn something off and accidentally drained the batteries. So I was very concious the next 3 times I used it (after carefully reading the instructions) to turn it off. Yet everytime the batteries were dead. I couldn't return since I didn't have the reciept. I called Fisher Price to explain the problem. The service representative informed me that I would have to ship some of the parts (at my cost) back to them and they would send me a new one. I really don't think its fair that I have to pay for shipping to return a malfunctioning product. I already spent $65.00 (ok, not me but my family member did) to purchase it and it never worked properly. In the same phone call I also informed the service rep about another fisher price toy my daughter recieved that also broke. The sparkling symphony gym worked great for a few months but then the music started skipping and stuttering. I checked the batteries, it wasn't that. I think there was a short in the electrical wiring. She explained that they no longer make that product and make something else instead so there was nothing they could do. So, nice waste of about $90.00 I told her there was something I could do, not buy any of there products anymore.Customer Review: Great Swing!

I bought this Swing (different theme) new at a Garage sale for less than $20.00. It is great! The Swing folds up easily and neatly. It plays music and lights up at the same time. It has 8 different swing speed settings. There are 2 toys hanging down. There is a setting that allows the baby to pull the toy and the music will come on. There is also one toy that is soft and makes a crackling noise that is attached to the safety belt. My son and I absolutely love this swing! I put him in there and set him next to me when I need to do house work. I don't turn on the swing or music until he starts whining, then I turn one on to keep him entertained. I got this when he was 2 1/2 months old, a week later he started learning how to reach out and touch the toys.
This is also great for when he's tired and cranky. I put him in it and turn on the music and swing and he falls right to sleep. This is the only swing I have and the only one I would need. I take it everywhere! It seems durable. I estimate that it would fit babies up to 6 months. I don't think an older mobile baby would sit still in any swing for long. And it seems dangerous if an older mobile baby try to sit up in it.
I recommend this product. It's great, I didn't realize how expensive it is. I wouldn't pay that much for any swing, I recommend buying a good used one from your local classifieds.

My daughter is 2 mos. old. A friend gave us this swing, and we have the "Fisher Price Smart Stages 3-in-1" swing too. She likes them both at different times (for reasons only she understands). I like the music on this swing better than other swings I've had (this is my 4th child). It is soft and soothing, not "tinny" and abrasive. There are also several songs, not just a few that repeat over and over. My baby likes the fish on the sides. She didn't discover them until she was about 5 or 6 weeks old, and when she did, she was enthralled with them. She doesn't like the lights. They seem to bother her. I'm not sure that would be the case with all babies. Not a problem, we just leave them off. I'll try them again later when she's older. I like the many "grow with baby" entertainment options on this swing. Seems like that will keep her from getting bored with it as she grows. I also like the portability a lot. Especially since our Labrador Retriever likes to lick her in the face in her other swing! LOL. With this one, I can put it on a table and the dog can't reach her. Swing seat is "hammock" style, so it's comfortable (there's no hard plastic backing on it). Pad is also very easy to remove for washing. I haven't found that the batteries run out too quickly, BUT - we don't use the lights, and she doesn't use the swing every day, so - I don't know.Customer Review: This is a GREAT swing!

Although I never put our baby in this swing solely for the purpose of sleeping, she ocassionally fell asleep in it. You can then turn down the swinging level and save batteries (which are super easy to change, even while the baby is sitting in the swing).
It has varied swinging levels, which were nice when she was a newborn. Sometimes bigger swings startled our babies, but this one doesn't if set on a low setting, like two or three. It was just the right amount of movement for her.
Now at 3 months old, she loves to watch the lights. It can be set for either lights or no lights and just music. And, the two music choices are soothing and entertaining for her. She can also now pull on one of the side toys to turn the music on herself, although I'm not convinced this isn't just by accident. She doesn't even notice the adorable sea creatures in water on the sides. This may come later.
This is one of the baby items that I would not live without. It does fold flat for storage or travel, but we've never traveled with it. We just love that it doesn't take up much room.
And my favorite thing about it is that you can pick it up to move it while the baby is in it, with the handle on the top. This is really handy when your baby doesn't want you out of her sight.

This is the second Fisher-Price Aquarium Take-Along Swing I've gotten. I bought the 1st model about 4 years ago for my 1st baby and now I have it again for my new baby. I loved the 1st one. I gave it away and it still works today 4 years later under continuous use! (my cousin's had this model for over a year and it still works great)
Now as for this swing model I love all the new features it has. I like the fact that you can rotate the top part that holds the lights. Great idea! My son loves it. The lights & music help soothe him when he can't fall asleep.
The only thing I dislike about this model is that it does not recline as much as the other one, actually it does not recline at all=(. When my son falls asleep his head just hangs over to the side making it dangerous. We had a scare when his head got caught in between the "blue frame bar" and the "swinging white bar" that holds the swing. Of course like most baby products children are not to be left un-attended and we caught it right away. Now we just place receiving blankets on both sides, when one gets caught it just stops the swing. I do feel parents should consider this before purchasing this model. Like I mentioned before it is a great, soothing, fun swing and it is only a hazzard if the baby is left un supervised.
