Baby Products Reviews of Fisher-Price Aquarium Take-Along SwingCustomer Review: good swing but pricy for what you get Summary: 4 Stars
we originally purchased the fisher price jungle plaid cradle swing. it wobbled a lot and creaked, which woke my baby up all the time. i returned that swing and bought this one instead. overall, i am pleased with the new swing. it plays nice soothing music (adjustable volume which is SO nice), the lights are nice, and its cute. the swinging motion seems good, though i never used any of the slower settings because my baby always liked the fastest setting.
pros:
soothing music (NOT mozart! yay im so sick of all the stuff that plays the same mozart music), VERY portable, small foot print (probably around 1/3 the size of most full size swings), and the lights and swimming fish seem to amuse my 3 mos old.
cons:
way overpriced, but there is nothing else comparable for cheaper. i just think that a small swing like this should be cost considerably less than the full sized swings. when i put my sleeping child in the swing (the only way he sleeps in it is if hes already sleeping, but thats how he was with the other swing too), its akward to get him down that low (close to the floor) and around the support bars without waking him up. not necessarily a con, i know, but if you are comparing against the full sized swings, it does make a difference. the only other cons are small: construction seems like the crappiest they could get away with without compromising safety, just like every other swing on the market, it wobbles, just like every other swing i have seen, and my 3 mos old cant activate the "play" function yet, which requires pulling on the dangling toys on the side (also, probably not a con, just a developmental thing).
i know this seems like more cons than pros for a 4 star rating, but it is the best swing for the money that i have seen. plus, those huge swings are so annoying to move around the house or travel with.
note: the fish that doesnt have a hole which other reviewers mentioned: its supposed to be that way. there are 2 different types of toys that attach, the one type attaches to the fish with the hole, the other one attaches to the one that doesnt have a hole. trust me, you will know what i mean when you assemble the swing. my husband and i thought we got a defective one too, at first :)
