I purchased this item for my elderly mother. She lives independently with a caregiver. This purchase was made so the caregiver could listen if my mother needs help during the middle of the night. The fact that it is a two-way, the caregiver can tell my mom that she's on her way to help her in the bathroom. I am more at ease knowing this product keeps my mom safe from falls even during the middle of the night. I would definitely consider purchasing another one for a baby shower. It's a shame they didn't manufacture this when my children were infants.Customer Review: Evenflo Whisper

I didnt have a monitor with my son so I wasnt sure what to expect. I thought there would be a lot more background snow but there isn't it is very clear. We have a vaporizer running all the time in there but when my daughter cries, her voice is very clear through the vaporizer sounds. The only thing is that I wish the monitor was a little more portable, maybe a battery backup. A minor inconvenience. The 2-way speaker is awesome. When I shower and she starts to cry, I can calm her with a little conversation and get a couple minutes to dry off.Customer Review: Decent for the price

I ordered this monitor since the other one I had gave out on me. I knew I wouldn't need one for much longer so I didn't want to spend too much money.
I do get some static from time to time, but even through the static I can still hear my daughter if she needs me. Also, the 2 way intercom feature is pretty nifty. When she gets fussy and I can't get to her right away, I can at least call into her and let her know that Mamma will be right there. That usually calms her right away and she falls back asleep on her own.
I like it.

With two kids under six we have gone through many baby monitors and this is the ONLY one that we loved. It is very quiet, so we can sleep while still listening for the kids at night. When we lived in a three story house the walkie-talkie feature saved us a lot of trips up and down the stairs. The only reason that I gave this product 4 instead of 5 stars is that one of the receivers gave out on us. The walkie-talkie feature stopped working and the receiver will only work if plugged in. This is my first review anywhere. I bought two of 'em relying on reviews here, so I could be in contact with my elderly mother downstairs. Less than 20 feet in a regular old house. Nada, crappo, noflo. I ended up getting a Phillips Avent 2-way for close to $100. Crystal clear one-channel with no stupid sub-channels or anything. I've only had it a week, but it's what I expected from the other 2-ways that I had to pay return postage on. Do yourself a favor. Spend the money -- you'll come out in the longrun.
