Customer Review: Sturdy, safe product - love the shoulder straps

My son was really excited to hop into this captain's seat after being in an infant seat for 10 months. I really liked the adjustable shoulder straps which easily move without taking the whole seat apart. The twisty knob is also an improvement to the way our other carseat made you tighten the harness. It is really easy to get a snug fit and then release that tension to get the baby out.
A couple of heads up though:
1)installation was a little tricky - we have LATCH system, but it was still an effort to get it properly clipped in and steady (I think this might just be the nature of all carseats as you wonder, "is this tight enough? Will it hold my baby if we get in a crash? Should it move like that?) I know I'm not the only one to knock the seat and jiggle it to compound your concern.
2)when baby falls asleep his head flops to the side. I thought it would be better supported with the big, padded carseat panels - maybe when he gets a little bigger?
Overall, I'm quite happy with the quality. It feels safe and sturdy. The seat cover is attractive and well padded. Baby finds it comfy.

We bought this carseat about a month ago for our 10 month old daughter. Once it arrived, I installed it myself without any assistance. It was easy to use, easy to understand, and easy to adjust.
I don't find it to heavy, like some other reviews have said. I'm 5'3" and have no upper body strength, and I didn't find this too bulky or too heavy to work with. I mean, I wouldn't recommend moving it from car to car, but that's only because I feel like if you move it too much, you get careless, and you could install it incorrectly (as I would say for any carseat, honestly.)
Another plus is that it has a higher weight limit, AND consumer reports actually considers it a best-buy. More great advantages.
And my favorite plus: It is not too expensive, I think it's quite affordable! It's really well priced. I couldn't afford a Britax, and quite frankly, this carseat has been rated just as good, so I don't care!
So, to say the least, I love this carseat. My daughter has plenty of space in it. It's comfy, well-shaped, not bulky, and easy to use. I would definitely buy it again and do recommend it to anyone.

I tried to match the price of this car seat in the stores, and they wouldn't. This was the best price anywhere! This convertible seat has everything you need making it convenient to get your child in and out of the car as fast and convenient as possible.
I love the turn dial belt adjustments on each side of the seat that allow you to adjust the seat harness to just the right tightness. No more playing the tighten and loosen guessing game while my nine month old waits impatiently. And you don't need to turn both dials at once, one dial will loosen and tighten the harness easily.
Also, the installation was easy. It was simple to balance the seat in the car making it level to the ground. Getting the seat secured with the latch system was a breeze and tightening it as much as possible to secure the seat in the car took a little work, but they all do.
Finally, the tilt adjustment for the seat was simple to use with a guide on the side of the seat to tell you how the seat should be tilted.
I would definitely buy this over an expensive Britax anyday.

What a great carseat! I bought this for my 9 month old son after he outgrew the Graco Snugride (loved it too!). It is super easy to install and getting him in and out of it is a breeze. You never have to rethread the straps as the child grows taller because they are easily adjusted even with the child sitting in the seat! I love how the straps tighten with the use of a knob at the base of the seat. My 3 year old has the Alpha Omega Elite and you have to pull the strap in between his legs to tighten the straps. I thought really liked the Alpha Omega Elite until we got the Triumph Advance. Also, washing the carseat cover is a snap...a few hooks to loosen and the whole cover comes off and can be thrown in the washing machine. Our other carseat has to be taken out of the car and almost completely taken apart...what a pain. I actually just boght another Triumph Advance for my 3 year old and retired his Alpha Omega Elite...it just didn't compare! All in all, the Evenflo is easier to install, easier to buckle and unbuckle the kids in, easier to clean, and so much more comfortable!Customer Review: Evenflo Triumph Advance

This is a decent car seat for infants, that much I can say so far. As your only car seat for a newborn it does not offer any neck/head support for the infant. The small foam inserts pictured are nearly flat and not much help, more of a token effort than actually designing it to work. We bought some head/neck support pads that hook onto the shoulder straps and they work great.
The other downside is that we had to carry this "rather large" seat back and forth through the hospital with our newborn strapped in it. Our hospital would not let the infant leave the floor without a seat.
It was only one trip though so not horrible. Our child is not yet to the point where he can really show how the seat will do for larger kids, but I imagine it will work great.
It was easy to get mounted in the car once I realized the belts come routed for front facing mounting and you need to reroute them if you are using rear facing.
Overall, not bad just don't expect it to support your newborn without something else to hold it's head.
