Customer Review: This is THE car seat you want!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this seat to replace the britax marathon I got for my baby shower. My daughter is a large 5 month old so I was ready to transfer her to a rear facing convertible seat. I wanted it to be user friendly and last for a LONG time. This seat fits the bill! I love the way it adjusts with ease. I think that alone makes it much more safe. Your child is more likely to be properly fitted if you can adjust it properly every time the seat is used. It was also much easier to secure in the vehicle than the britax. There is a place to secure an unused tether strap and locking clip system to if you do not use them instead of just tucking them in somewhere. The seat also provides side impact protection that the marathon does not. The cover is easily removable which is great for keeping it clean. The strap between the legs also has adjustable positions to get a proper fit. I was unable to get the marathon to fit properly on my daughter's legs. Finally, I put my 5 1/2 year old in the seat (without having to unthread the straps so it took all of 20 seconds to adjust) and she fit great in the seat too! Overall so awesome I ordered a second for my husband's car!

Customer Review: Great car seat, great price
Summary: 4 Stars

My husband and I were debating whether to spend the big bucks for a Britax or pick this car seat. It has the same or even better ratings on consumer reports compared with a comparable Britax car seat. Glad we choose this one it saved us money. The price is very reasonable and I actually saved almost $60 when purchasing it here on Amazon with free shipping. At my local Wal-Mart in Hawaii they sell them for $161. Yeah for savings!

We have a 2008 scion xB and this seat fits perfectly in the center seat in the back. My husband who is 6'1" drives with the front seat all the way pushed back and it still doesn't come close to hitting the seat. I think though with much smaller cars it may take up a lot of room but what convertible car seat doesn't? So far my 7.5 month old seems to enjoy having more room to move about.

The head rest though doesn't seem to cradle my little one with enough support but a couple of small receiving blankets around the sides helps to contain his head as you would do with a new born baby in an infant seat.

Over all good seat. Will possible purchase another one for our other car.

Customer Review: still going!
Summary: 4 Stars

My son outgrew his infant seat at 5 months, so in the summer of 2005 we bought two of these Triumph seats (one for each car). They're still going strong. My son still uses them, but we'll move him into an appropriate booster this winter when he turns 4.

My only real beef with these is that the fabric has faded and worn through in some spots. They're easy to install and easy to adjust. In fact, they're a little TOO easy to adjust. Every now and then I'll try to put the boy in his seat and be unable to clip him in, which is when I ask "have you been playing with the knobs again?" The answer is always "yes mommy."

I drive a Subaru, my husband has an Impala, and the seat fits well in both cars. We've taken it on planes (big and bulky, but fit just fine) and installed it into rental cars. It's always performed well, and our son likes that the seat sits high so he can see out the windows. I'm looking for a snazzy seat cover to freshen them up but anticipate getting another couple of years out of them. We had another baby this year and she'll be needing to move to the big seat sometime this winter. Hopefully her brother won't mind!

Customer Review: better than the competition just because of the ease of adjusting
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used a handful of different convertible car seats by now, between borrowed seats from friends and the dubious seats proffered by rental car agencies, and they're all nearly impossible to adjust in the rear-facing position. Now that the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests keeping children rear-facing for at least the first two years, a seat that doesn't adjust well rear-facing is even more annoying.

EvenFlo's seat is the first one i've seen that has the strap adjustment on the side, so it's just as easy to use rear-facing as front-facing. To loosen the straps, you push the lever. To tighten them, you turn the knob. It's so easy to do without even looking.

It's no harder to install than other seats i've used, no harder to clean, no harder to get my son into or out of.

And because it's mentioned in several of the low-star reviews: yes, if your child falls asleep, they may end up with their head tipped forward in that slightly disturbing fashion endemic to the car seat ridership. As awkward as it looks to us, the kids never seem to mind, so i'm not sure what the point is in getting worked up about it.

Customer Review: Excellent Value and Great Carseat!
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this car seat for our son when he was 6 months old because we were ready to move him out of the carrier car seat but he still needed to be rear facing. This car seat was perfect because it does rear facing and forward facing and has 3 reclining positions, one for rear facing and 2 for forward facing. Our favorite feature is the knobs on the sides of the car seat to tighten the straps, it's SO nice to not have to reach to the front of the seat to grab the strap to tighten the shoulder straps or to push the button to loosen the straps either. With this seat the knobs on the side let you loosen and tighten the shoulder straps extremely easily and you know that you have the straps tight enough without fighting with the seat. It's also nice how the straps are on a system that allows you to never have to adjust the height of the shoulder straps, you just slide them up and down as you need them and then when you tighten the straps around you child it's secure and comfortable.
The shape of the seat is also nice and our son didn't have any issues going from the carrier to this car seat, he sleeps comfortably in it too!
