Customer Review: Pretty good!
Summary: 4 Stars

My 8 month old son outgrew his Graco Snugride, so after much research, we settled on this one. I got this car seat because of the many many good things I've heard about it, and for the most part I'm glad I did. I've had the seat installed for about 3 weeks now...

Pros:
- Very safe; allows him to stay rear-facing longer
- Attractive, looks really comfortable, baby seems to enjoy it
- Fits in my smallish car
- Big enough to be used until he's 5 or so (a big plus!)
- Easy to install with LATCH
- Straps are very easy to tighten and adjust
- Relatively inexpensive, and really awesome for the price

Cons:
- Does not fit in the middle seat. This means that one of the front seats has to be pushed pretty far up to make room for this car seat behind it. Not a big deal because we're short anyway, but it'd be awkward for tall people.
- For me, for some reason, it is SO DIFFICULT to loosen the straps. You have to push this red tab down on the front corner of the seat, and I have the roughest time pushing it hard enough. Getting him out of the car is a frustrating process for me. My husband doesn't have any trouble though, so it might just be me.
- Doesn't recline enough for little babies. My son's head droops when he falls asleep; I wouldn't put a baby younger than 4 or 6 months in here.

Overall, this is a really great seat, and it is by far the best value you'll find. And Amazon's prices are a lot cheaper than anywhere else! But I might recommend you check it out in a store before you order it, just to see how well you can work with the straps.

Customer Review: Picky Mom from Indy loves this car seat.

After MONTHS of research I am so happy I decide on the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX Convertible Car Seat - Harbortown. My son is 14 months old now and, even though he is tall for his age, he is very slim weighing 20 pound 1 ounce at 13 months!! I wanted to make sure that his little boney bottom would be comfortable on long family vacations in the car. This car seat is WONDERFUL. First of all, Amazon was great and I paid $112.00 with NO shipping and the car seat arrived in just 5 days!! After reading the owners manual front to back, I installed the seat forward facing using the latch system in my van very easily and with out any help from my husband. As many of the reviews have said, this seat is large and heavy. So I wouldn't recommend it for people who are moving it between cars on a daily basis. I love the fact it is so big and that the sides are contoured for side impact protection. I drive a 2007 Dodge Caravan and this seat fits perfectly. This seat sits A LOT higher than most and my son loves that he can easily see out the windows. The padding is really nice and he falls asleep every car ride after just a few minutes. I love the adjustable shoulder straps and have had no problem with twisting - I have been using the car seat daily for about 6 weeks. The color is great and exactly like the pictures provided. I have the seat reclined to the 2nd position so that my son can sleep with out his head falling forward. I recomend this seat to everyone I know that is researching convertible car seats and I can't say enough about it... The Evenflo Triumph Advance LX Convertible Car Seat and Amazon have exceeded my expectations. Thanks so much!!!

Customer Review: First time mom in KS
Summary: 4 Stars

So far, I have had 2 issues with the car seat. The shoulder straps are uneven and I'm not quite sure how it happened since they were even when I first installed it. Also, I felt like the latch system didn't stay tight when I used it, so I switched to using my shoulder seatbelt with the locking clip.
Car: I drive a Mazda 3. The seat fits great in the middle position (which it the safest anyway). It actually allows the front seat to be further back than my old Graco Snugride did.
Baby: My daughter is 10 1/2 months and we've owned the seat for 2 months.
Shoulder Straps: I love the way they adjust for height. There is no slipping the straps through holes, you simply shift them up to the next level when baby gets longer.
Adjusting the Straps: Like the ability to adjust using the knob. So far I haven't had any issues with loosening the straps when I need to. I did notice you need to turn the knob BEFORE pulling on the straps to loosen them.
Comfort: Seat seems to be comfortable. The buckle does not pinch her legs which some other people complained about. Her feet just touch the back seat of the car. This seat isn't suitable for younger babies. It sits up too straight. My daughter does not like sleeping in it. She stayed awake for a 40 minute drive at 10pm instead of sleeping in it. Of course, she hates sleeping in the car anyway, but she does sleep better in my husband's Cosco Scenera. Other than sleeping in it, she enjoys the ride.
Wear and Tear: We use the belt clip for this seat so we never remove it from the vehicle. So far, no wear and tear on the fabric or mechanisms.

Customer Review: enough positive features to outweigh the rest
Summary: 4 Stars

Recently purchased this Evenflo car seat for our 9 month old daughter who is rather long/large for her age, and was rapidly outgrowing our old Graco carrier/traveler system. Did a lot of research, and looked at this and other car seats in person at the store before purchasing. We liked the product features, particularly the harness/belt system. It is easy to use/quick to lock in baby, and the fact that there is an easy to reach knob for loosening/tightening the straps is a big plus. No need to constantly adjust. We are also pleased to be able to get a very tight/locking fit of the seat into our car, something we struggled with when using the base to our Graco infant car carrier.

I was concerned looking at it that the back of the seat was going to be much too high for driver visibility and, indeed, when installed, it seemed quite high. But it was a non-issue (we see the very tip top of the car seat but it doesn't obstruct our view when driving in our Honda Accord...and neither of us is very tall).

Our daughter seems happy in the seat and well supported, but there are two issues I am not 100% happy with....it advertises as having the side wings to support their heads when they want to sleep, but our daughter's head still flops forward in what looks like a neck wrenching position when sleeping. Also, her feet already touch the back of the auto's seat....it feels like the seat part is short in that sense....or else my daughter is just taller than we already noted! My best referral is that we're about to buy a second one for my husband's car, so happy overall.

Customer Review: Very big seat but good new design features
Summary: 5 Stars

We just bought this seat for our 2nd daughter. I thought it was essentially an upgraded version of the same seat as the one we bought for our first daughter in 2007. Now that we have it, I am surprised to see how much larger it is than the older one. The top of the back is almost 6 inches taller, the sides are wider, and the seat sits higher which means the baby can more easily look out the window. The size difference is not a complaint; just an observation.

The main new (improved) feature this one has that our older model didn't have is that the top of the shoulder straps are not locked into one slot or another; they actually slide up and down and so they fit at exactly the correct position over the child's shoulders. Adjusting the height of the straps on our older seat is a bit of a pain so this is something we never have to worry about now.

However the one negative new feature is that the lap buckles which click into the center connector are "free sliding" and so they always slide down under the sides of the baby's butt. So every time you put the baby in the seat, you have to reach down under the baby to find these buckles. The older version of the seat had these buckles fixed at the right place along the strap so they don't slide down like that. (This is hard to explain and maybe doesn't make any sense.)

Overall, it's a great seat. the larger size means my kid will be able to use it until she is quite large and thus delay our need to get anything new (like a booster seat) for white some time.
