Customer Review: Excellent solution for the price

This gate is easy to install in our large (60") doorway between kitchen and family room. Our 24-lb toddler can't move it and neither can the dog -- it's very solid. Unlike metal/wood gates, there's nothing for anybody to get hurt or scratched on if they fall into/against it. It has not marked the woodwork so far. I also like the neutral color and how you can see through the mesh; it doesn't look bulky or create an eyesore in the house and is almost "invisible" to my eyes now. We take it down every evening after the baby goes to bed and I put it up again each morning in about 20 seconds. At 5'4", I have learned to easily step over it, even with my hands full -- and my husband will tell you, I'm a klutz!Customer Review: Versatile and compact - form and function!

We got this gate during the summer when our son was about 10 months and starting to walk. He loved trying to climb the stairs in the summer house we rented - we needed a gate but would need something that required zero hardware. Plus, we live in a small apartment, and would have to be able to stow it with ease. This gate fits the bill.
We use it now to block all the AV equipment under the TV. I am buying another today to block off the sliding glass door. The little guy can see though and even stick his little fingers everywhere without worry about a pinch.
And, it's very reasonably priced, so I don't feel like I'm getting pinched either. Gotta love that.

We have an open walkway between our kitchen eating area and the family room. During the day we keep 2 small dogs in there (tile floor). None of the standard baby gates are wide enough - we use one in the doorway to the kitchen. This one expands to 60" and our opening is about 55". It takes a little wrist strength to twist the ends for tension, but no problem for me (male). My wife struggles with the twist and getting enough tension to hold it in place. Not a big deal, just a small learning curve on how to affix in doorway.
Would not recommend for aggressive dogs. puppies, or children. The mesh sides of the gate could easily be chewed, ripped, or torn away.

I have used a lot of gates with my 3 children and dog. This one is a complete pain to use. I realize it's not for "heavy traffic" areas, but even setting it up the first time is a major endeavor -if not an impossible one: my wife, a normal person, just not as powerful wrists as mine, cannot rotate the slippery, stiff, too-small-to-grip ring on the end that is required to extend these. Here's the picture: rotate a stiff ring *slightly* to extend the poles into the wall *a bunch* -the power ratio is totally off. Design should have been: rotate a lot, easily, to extend slowly, powerfully. Then there are two of these to do: top and bottom. I wear my wrist out every time!Customer Review: Ordered a baby gate and recieved a backpack?

I cant comment on if this gate is great or not because I received a backpack instead. Why? I have no clue. Amazon was less than helpful. I had to box it back up and take it to the post office, they would not send me a call tag. Also if the backpack that I didnt order wasnt back in their office in 30 days they would charge me for both the baby gate that I hadnt recieved and the backpack that I never wanted? Doesnt seem fair to me. So needless to say that backpack was out of my home the next day. I didnt want to worry about getting a second backpack so I had them refund my credit card. I still cant see how the 2 could be confused. Very unhappy customer. Good luck everyone
