Baby Products Reviews of Evenflo Soft And Wide Gate Taupe & ChocolateCustomer Review: Baby Gate Answer Summary: 5 Stars
Really like this gate. Bought it after reading other good reviews. I orginially purchased it because of how far it extends and its low cost. I wanted to put it in the fireplace/mantel opening to keep my baby out of the fireplace, BUT she figured out how to push the sliding mirror closet doors off the tracks in her bedroom, so now the gate is "stuck" in the frame in front of the sliding doors. It keeps her out of the closet and from pushing the doors off and hurting herself AND I can still get in her closet. I am considering buying another one. It was easy to assemble and install. I did use a pair of pliers to tighten the "knobs" a bit as it was difficult for me to do it by hand and it was hard to reach and turn the knob closest to the floor just with my fingers. Definitely recommend this gate. I also tried it in our hall where the walls are uneven and it worked great there too!
Customer Review: It's a 10! Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased this gate, and wish I had known about it before I spent nearly $200.00 on another gate and extensions to fit a doorway of 53" that broke already! This gate is easy to assemble, VERY sturdy, and easy to move. I even traveled with this gate! The chocolate and cream color are attractive, and so is the price! If i would have found this gate earlier, i would have bought 3 or 4 of them. The only issue i can see for others would be that you must step over the gate while it is up, unless you want to take it down and put it back up again. I'm 5'3" and have absolutely no problem stepping over it. However, my husband and I are both athletic and agile. Still, the gate is only about 27" tall. If that is a problem for you, it is still a perfect gate for even a low traffic area, and great to take to grandma's or a friend's house! I highly reccomend this gate!
Customer Review: Great gate Summary: 5 Stars
This was the only gate I could find that didn't cost a fortune that would fit my entryways without being hard mounted into the wall. I have one opening that is 54" and one that is almost 57", and the gates fit perfectly in both. They are easy to take down and put back up, and the tension is enough that even when my daughter leans into the mesh it stays put. We don't have any issue walking over this gate. It is only an problem for someone who is quite short or has difficulty lifting their legs. I like that we can see through the mesh to watch from another room, and even if my daughter falls into it, it's not going to pinch her fingers or scratch or scrape her skin like a hard plastic or wooden gate would. I cannot say at this point if the tension will withstand a toddler's abuse, but I have kicked the top rail stepping over it and it didn't budge.
Customer Review: A Great "Light Traffic" Baby Gate Summary: 5 Stars
This baby gate is perfect for those "light traffic" areas that need to be blocked off from your baby. I have placed this gate between my kitchen and entryway to keep my active 10 month old from getting into the entry way and into our formal front room. It keeps her out of our front room where we will put up our Chrismtas tree and decorations that are dangerous for babies.
My husband and I enter and exit the house from the garage which is off of the bedrooms instead of the front door. When someone comes to the door, we just have to step over the gate to answer the door. This is not much of a problem because we are both tall.
One of the advantages of this baby barrier is that there is no hardware to install, so you do not have to drill holes in your wall. Also, it does not require any tools to put it up.
Customer Review: Evenflo Baby/Pet Gate Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this gate a few weeks ago to prevent our dogs from entering the newly refinished family room. The gate arrived in good condition, easily assembled out of the box and was up blocking our wide opening to the family room within ten minutes. Gate keeps the dogs, and probably children, out well and looks good doing it. The nylon sleeves that hold the rods are well finished and the main barrier material is a see-through nylon netting. The upper and lower bars screw adjust to just wider than your opening, similar to a tension held shower curtain rod, and with a little pressure to compress the springs in the rods, the gate is placed in the opening and is secure. Rubber tips on the ends of the rods prevent wall marking or damage. A very simple and elegant design.
This gate does what I expected and I'm happy.
