Hello, I've had this gate now for over a month. I use it to keep my medium sized dog in the kitchen when I am not home. The doorway was extra wide and it was hard to find a reasonably priced gate. I had several concerns, first being the mesh ripping from my dog or cats and second, the damage to the wall that I read occurs with this gate. I have not had any problems so far. Because my dog is older and does not test the gate, it has not been torn. I like that I can set it off the ground about 6-8 inches which allows the cats to move underneath the gate. That is low enough that my dog can't crawl under it. As to the wall damage, I haven't seen any. This may be because I don't have to set the gate as tight to prevent a child from pushing or crawling on it. It's snug enough to stay in place and I pinched my finger once to the point it bled when setting it up against the wall becuase I had not properly adjusted it. It is hard to make this gate slightly narrower. My openening is 58" and the mesh bunches a bit since the doorway is a bit narrower than the gate. Overall, I like the product. I bought this gate because we have an odd space that we wanted to block so that the dogs would stay in the kitchen and the kids would stay out. Because of a floor lined wall heater a normal gate would not work unless we had it elevated but our dogs are small and could crawl right under. This gate was the answer to my problem.
Because the gate is adjustable on top and bottom the gate can be different lengths on top and on bottom. It can be angled too and it is just long enough to work for any space in my house. It is easy to move and the spring locks on it work well to hold out even my rambunctious 18 month old son who has broken all other gates in my house. My dogs cannot jump it because of the material and they can see through it so they feel comfortable being in the other room when they can see the family. This gate is by far the best one I have purchased and my only regret is that I did not get 2!!!
We also live in the middle of nowhere, Alaska so finding products locally is impossible. Amazon had what we wanted at the most affordable price and they had the cheapest shipping! Fantastic Purchase!!
Customer Review: Perfect for light traffic areas.

This gate is a pressure-mounted gate designed specifically for "light traffic" (that's what it says on the box!). It's not meant for the top of stairs. It doesn't have a latch or door that you can open and close. But it's a great gate to block off an area that has a wide opening. There are no other pressure mounted gates on the market that fit this wide of a space (up to 60 inches). The next widest pressure mounted gate covers just under 48 inches and that one was difficult to install. This one I had installed in less than 5 minutes, and it's quite secure. The gate is low enough that an average height Mom or Dad can step right over it, so the lack of a door doesn't bother me at all. (I'm 5'4" and have no problems swinging my leg over it). And to top it off, the price is reasonable.
If you have a narrower space and want a pressure-mounted gate with a door/latch, I recommend the Hands-Free Gate for The First Years. I've had it for over 3 years now and use it mulitple times a day without any problems. It's maximum width is 34 inches.

We bought this gate as our son was starting to learn to move around on his own, and he's already fallen over onto it. The soft mesh made sure he didn't get hurt! The installation was very easy, and I had it up in less than 10 minutes. Many pressure mounted gates do not cover a full range of openings, but this gate can easily adjust to any size opening within the listed range. We had no trouble installing it in our entry, which was in the middle of the listed range.
This gate is also very sturdy, and I am not worried about knocking into it because it fits so snugly into the opening. My husband and I have both bumped into it as we've moved around, and we have not had to adjust it since it was installed.
I am on the shorter side(5-feet, 2-inches), so the gate is too tall for me to easily walk over. We have another gate that opens for me to walk through while holding the baby, but if you are shorter, and you want to put the gate in a path you would use all the time, this might not be the best gate for you.

I was a bit skeptical on purchasing this type of gate. But after some research I thought, I might as well just get it instead of prolonging the process. (bought 2 yrs ago)
I am very amazed and pleased at how easy it was to assemble and how well it works! Fits very tight and secure in a wide space (with uneven walls). We have not, thankfully enough, had the privilege of watching our lil one, who really loves to climb as well, climb over it and break an arm. My lil one knows not to do that on or around this gate. But I do have to say, if you have really tall children, they are the ones who are clumsy and fall on the gate which therefore makes the gate come loose, which makes for some great family laughs. Mind you the really tall (clumsy child) is 13! It has worked well in our house these past 2 years, I highly recommend it! I believe it would work well for any family, even ones with a puppy, hopefully yours.
Just don't have it placed in a high traffic area of the house.
