This gate is easy to assemble and install, and built to last. The instructions could be a bit clearer as far as describing the "splay" built into the gate opening. This closes up at the top as you apply pressure with the clamping pads. My tip is to tighten it up until the latch will catch, then close the gate and keep tightening the pads until the small indicator window just turns all green. Our two dogs like to rough-house and have torn up two gates (a wooden one and a metal one) but they'll never make a dent in this one. In fact they have stopped trying. This is a quality product; I'd be very happy with it if it cost $80 or $90.Customer Review: Nice Sturdy Gate

I just got this gate today and I'm glad I bought it. It was so easy to put up! I have put up three other gates around the house and this is by far the easiest to install. It took me longer to get it out of the box than to install. It is very sturdy and my 18 moth old son can not pull it down. He was able to pull down the previous pressure mounted gate.
I gave it four stars instead of five because it is a little bit of a pain to close. Instead of just clicking closed like most other gates you have to hold the buttons to make sure it locks. A minor inconvience. All in all it is a nice sturdy gate that is easy to install.

I like the fact that it's pressure mounted, and it stays in place better then some gates, but we have once or twice tripped over the bar on the bottom and knocked it out of place. We also had an issue with an opening that was just 1 inch to small to use the extension with it, and it didn't stay very well. It's also a little bothersome to have to remember to step over the bar, when there are gates out there that do not have that. My older kids (7&8) sometimes have a difficult getting this to open/shut correctly as well, they need to use both hands to open it. But overall the gates does the job it's supposed to.Customer Review: Hard to open but works great

My only complaint is that this gate is somewhat hard to slide open (I need two hands) this is great if you have a child who is trying to get through but right now we are using it for our dog until our baby comes. We just didn't want to continue to step over the other baby gates so this works well- I also think it becomes easier to open the more you use it (maybe something loosens up). Otherwise 5 stars for quality- this is heavy duty metal and can stay up semi permanently without having to bolt it into your wall. The price is definitely right, we ordered two and I would order more if I find a need for more gates.Customer Review: Horrible unsteady gate!

This gate is horrible. I cannot find a way of making it tight because it requires that you loosen the pressure mounts so the door has 1/8th of an inch room so you can slide the handle to unlock it. In order for our gate to reach the 1/8th of an inch we had to loosen the pressure mounts so much that there is no way it would stay in place with my 12m old pulling on it!!
Not only did we have issues with that but it is REALLY difficult to open! There is no way my 8yo can unlock the gate and even I'm having a lot of trouble.
Save your money and purchase something different. We'll be returning this gate.
