Baby Products Reviews of Evenflo Exersaucer Smartsteps Jump & GoCustomer Review: Loved this jumper! Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this jumper used and my son LOVED it...once he learned how to jump in it. I read some of the other reviews that gave it poor ratings...I mostly used the jumper in the french door opening to our bedroom so I never had a problem with him banging his head on the door frame as some of the other reviewers mentioned. I did, however, use it in single door frames and never encountered a problem either. My son is a big boy for his age, so my only regret was the short time he was able to use it. (he reached the weight limit before nine months and didn't really begin to enjoy it until he was six months old)
Customer Review: Poor design Summary: 1 Stars
What a horrible design! First of all my daughter hates the strap behind her head which she is constantly banging against and then the strap that goes in the bouncing mechanism is all twisted and won't stay straight. As a result it is fraying and will break if I let her bounce in it much longer. Luckily my daughter never smashed her hands against the door frame but as other reviewers noted this is entirely possible and likely given the design. I was hoping to buy a fun jumper to last through all my children but this is definately not the one to buy...save your money. Mine is going back to the manufacturer.
Customer Review: My 5-month old son LOVES this toy! Summary: 5 Stars
I first tried this toy when my son was right at 4 months old. He's had it for a month now and plays in it almost every day. He absolutely loves it and I highly recommend it. My son's never pinched his fingers, but I can see how it could be an issue for some babies. His whole face lights up when he first gets in it and hears the music go off. This toy has really helped him learn how to his hands and fingers and helps him learn how to sit up. We have the ExerSaucer too and love it as well, but the Jump & Go is much easier for travel. He's spent hours in this toy and can't seem to get enough of it!!
Customer Review: I'm happy with it despite its bad reviews Summary: 4 Stars
Originally, after reading all the negative reviews, I bought the less expensive Johnny-Jump-Up, the one without the tray. It didn't work very well, though. It just didn't seem as SPRINGY as it should be. I ended up returning it and getting this version instead. People have complained about the tray pinching baby's fingers against the doorway, but we have a wide doorway, so it works well and is a lot springier than the first one we tried. Also, our little guy really likes the toy tray a lot. It does not seem at all dangerous if your doorway is wide and if you supervise your baby while he's playing.
Customer Review: Dangerous and stupidly designed item - 1 star is too high Summary: 1 Stars
This is a really poorly designed product. The plastic frame is not wide enough to prevent a child's hands from gripping the sides while bouncing. My 8 month old son did this and smashed his hand into the door frame. Yes, we set the item high enough so that he was on his tip toes when sitting. The item was set in the middle of the door frame. I guess no one at Evenflo realizes that kids go side-to-side - not just up and down. That means you can only safely use it with a double-wide door. Needless to say, it went right back to the store and a complaint letter was sent to Evenflo.
