The thing is just not "springy", it's too stiff. It's also a pain to put the child in or out. My son could never make it bounce. Not at 12 lbs and not at 20.Customer Review: good buy for the price

this is a good swing for the price. I like that you can adjust the length of swing for the height of your child. Easy to put together. I would recomend it.
