Baby Products Reviews of Evenflo Classic Johnny Jump Up, FrogsCustomer Review: great product Summary: 4 Stars
I rate this 4 stars only because it is a bit difficult to get my son in and out of the jumper...it sways around while I attempt to slide his chunky legs in the leg holes. Takes practice, but eventually we get him in there. With that said, he absolutely loves being in the jump up. We purchased this to take some work off our arms because at 4 months all our son wanted to do was stand (supported by us) and so this product was a life saver. The spring is a bit tight, but it doesn't seem to bother him. Other than getting him in there we absolutely love this jumper! When he gets tired of bouncing he just hangs out and checks out his environment from a new perspective!
Customer Review: beware of choking hazzard Summary: 3 Stars
my son loves this jumper. He is my fourth child and since having had my first, products change as this one does. As wonderful of an idea it is, he is on the shorter side. I had tucked his hands in one day just to give him a different experience. His neck went right into the metal bar causing him to choke and have a hard time breathing. I would hate to know what would have happened had I not been there to witness. For the few seconds he was in this position, when I pulled him up, it caused him to spit up most of what I had just finished feeding him. So make sure you or your care givers are well aware of this very hazzardess possition.
Customer Review: Spring Design Flaw Summary: 3 Stars
We wanted a portable jumper for our baby and liked the cute design of the fabric on this, but found a problem with the mechanism of the spring. It comes with a spring that has to be compressed by the child bouncing rather than a spring that gets stretched and then springs back when the baby bounces. Our baby isn't heavy enough to compress the hefty spring. We ended up taking the spring mechanism apart and replacing the spring with a type of spring that gets stretched out when the child bounces...all parts were purchased at a hardware store and cost us under $6. Now our baby LOVES it.
Customer Review: Instructions and picture of product show two different things... Summary: 1 Stars
This product has gone a little down hill since I was a baby as all things lately. Mother in-law and I had trouble putting this thing together for one thing not that it was hard but it was not SIMPLE. We tried looking at the picture to get an idea of if we were doing it right but it did not work out. It is a pain to get my son in and out of, but he enjoys it. The reason I give it a low rating is because putting it together was a pain and they used to put it together for you but now to cut cost they make you read confusing instructions for a toy so simple.
Customer Review: Simple fun Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 7 months old. It only took him 3 tries before he figured out how to use the Johnny Jump Up and now he loves it. I put him in it while I get ready for work and bathe, and there's no better use of time. He could jump all day. The only thing that poses a problem is that I live in an old building, and the downstairs door frames are very tall. The jumper doesn't fit in these door frames, but it works upstairs. If you have tall door frames I recommend taking a measurement before buying. Otherwise I believe this was a $25 dollars very well spent!
