Customer Review: Difficult install, fine carseat

I bought this to use in my husband's truck so I would't have to shuffle my daughter's primary carseat (a Graco MyRide 65 that I LOVE) back and forth. I didn't want to spend the money on another expensive carseat so I did a lot of research and found this one. My daughter is BARELY 20 lbs and has been rear-facing in my car (she's 17 months), but since she is technically big/old enough to go forward facing, it seemed to make the most sense to purchase a booster seat that could be used until she is big enough for a saftey belt alone instead of another convertible that only goes to 65 lbs or less and isn't big enough for a large child. Anyway, I am no stranger to the LATCH system with this being my 3rd carseat personally and probably 6th I've installed (for family/friends), but this carseat's is by far the most difficult I've used yet. Just the location of the lower belt being so high makes it fairly difficult to get super tight, but by sticking your body weight & knee into the center of the seat and pulling with all my strength, I got it very secure (and I'm pregnant, so you can do it with some effort). The armrests are a bit flimsy and the drink/snack holder sits a bit tilted, but for the price, it's what I expected. Contrary to many opinions, I quite like the length adjustment in the front although it makes for a bulky strap. My biggest complaint is the chest clip...holy cow, that thing is seriously a challenge to get undone every time. If I had to use this carseat every day, I would go nuts. BUT if you have a child who can undo their own chest clip, this might be the seat for you because I know of no Hoodini child who'd be able to open this. Otherwise, the carseat seems comfortable enough (way more than my mother-in-law's Cosco) and does what it needs to!
Bottom line: You get what you pay for as far as luxury, but it does it's job! Beware of the chest clip though. Test one out at a store before you buy it to make sure you can tolerate that.
