Baby Products Reviews of Evenflo 3 Pack Classic Glass Bottle, 8-Ounce

Customer Review: Good bottles.
Summary: 4 Stars

First off, I really appreciate the fact that these bottles are made of glass, as opposed to plastic. We try to limit food and beverages consumed in plastic. These aren't fancy and are a great price. You can skip the 4oz bottles and just get a bunch of 8oz ones. Your child will eventually use just the 8oz ones and in the mean time, you can just fill them up with 4oz.

While they are great, the rings and nipples may need to be replaced. They are not expensive though, so it's not a huge problem. Our daughter however did not like these as much as the Playtex drop ins. She really had a hard time sucking them. She would have to stop drinking and we would have to wait for all of the air to flow back in before she could continue. Maybe we just had faulty nipples. I'm not sure. I would be willing to give them another try though with our next child.

Customer Review: Evenflo Glass Bottles + Medela Nipples = VENT WELL, SIMPLY THE BEST!
Summary: 5 Stars

We read alot about the BPA concerns and they make us nervous too. We tried Dr. Browns', Avent, Born Free, etc. and when we discovered that Medela nipples do vent when use with Evenflo glass bottles, we are so happy! Our baby loves this combination too! This system is economical, BPA-free, and simple (comparing to those of Dr. Browns' and Born Free's). We've been using the system for 5+ months and want to share this with you all...

Evenflo glass bottles, made in Mexico ($5 for three) = economically BPA-free!
Medela nipples, made in Germany ($5 for three) = soft, right flowing rate (slow or medium) for newborns and infants (you can buy Medela nipples at Babies R Us stores.)

One thing to remember is that you should tighten the cap just about right (not too tight) or else the system won't vent.

Customer Review: Do be careful if warming
Summary: 5 Stars

I totally recommend glass bottles, and these are an affordable option (especially compared to Born Free plastic bottles at $10 a piece!). I did have two break, but due to my own error. Learn from my mistake, however!
If you warm bottles note that if you put a cold bottle into a warmer that these bottles crack with extreme temperature differences. Ways to prevent this: let the bottle warm for a 1/2 hour outside the fridge or warm in a cup of warm water instead of a bottle warmer (which has boiling water contacting the bottom of the bottle). A little forethought should prevent scary accidents. Fortunately ours broke over the kitchen sink as we were shaking them and preparing to dry the condensation off the bottles, and not near the baby. Again, this was user error -the bottles have a warning right on them.

Customer Review: Great bottles that really don't have plastic
Summary: 5 Stars

I have now used these bottles with 2 children (the first time 17 years ago and am using them again with my 5 month old) and they work wonderfully. I recently decided to buy the Dr. Brown's because I had heard that the venting system was great. What I found, however, is that Dr. Brown's glass bottles use a plastic straw made from potentially hazardous materials so we returned those right away. Evenflo glass bottles are easy to clean with no small peices that require special cleaning tools. They also don't get scratched up like plastic. They are sturdy (we dropped one and it rolled under the car without breaking.)

I do not use the standard nipples because I have always preferred Gerber Nuk but the batch of these I ordered did come with silicone nipples.

Customer Review: Yay for glass bottles!
Summary: 5 Stars

Being a mother that is very concerned about what I put into my little guys body, I knew that glass bottles were the only kind of bottle I would use when I found out I was unable to breastfeed.

These bottles are impossible to find in stores, so I was very excited to find them here on Amazon.

They don't retain formula smell, or (if you lose a bottle and don't find it for several days) rotten milk smell. They come out so clean and fresh from the dishwasher.

I don't like the latex nipples that come with the bottles, so I bought leak-proof silicone nipples from Wal-Mart. They work great!

Thanks Evenflo for continuing to make glass bottles for us chemical conscious mommies!
