These bottles get 5 stars even thought the old rubber nipples they come with aren't any good. 5 stars because like the rest of these reviewers, my wife heard about the evils of plastic baby bottles and we drove around town for weeks looking for plain old glass baby bottles. Who would have thought Amazon would have them, and so cheap. I love you amazon and I love you 8oz Evenflo Glass Nurser. I was an Avent user, until this BPA scare, that is. These bottles are excellent. Very durable! I really have no complaints, however, we did have to switch to a silicone orthodontic nipple because my 7 month old could not get the hang of the hard rubber one. For babies who have issues with swallowing too much air, just use the 4 oz. Dr. Browns vent system, with these 8 oz. Evenflo classics, problem solved! (The 8 oz. vent is a tad too long.)Customer Review: Wonderful and Inexpensive bottles

I have used the bottles for four months and really like them. I have a Medela breast pump and the bottles fit directly on the pump, allowing me to pump directly into the bottle. I use Dr. Brown's nipples because the ones that come with the bottles seem kind of hard.
According to the book, Baby 411, antibodies from breastmilk stick to plastic, but not glass. I believe the authors of the book recommend glass bottles.

I just received these bottles last week and one interesting thing is they came with the clear-color nipples which look like the sillicone ones, so I am a little confused, because in the picture on amazon, the color is yellow and it's latex. I don't know if I get lucky that evenflo has replaced the nipples from latex to sillicone or these clear color nipples are actually latex as well? Love these bottles! I had some hand-me-down Dr. Brown's but then read about BPA and switched to these glass. I use the Brown's nipples, cap and vent (not the straw, it's too long) and it vents great. You can buy the Dr. Brown's replacement parts to use with these. The only problem I have had is that sometimes they leak if you don't screw the top on really tight. They wash up great in the dishwasher and still look new!
