Baby Products Reviews of EvenFlo SmartSteps Exersaucer EntertainerCustomer Review: My little girl LOVES it!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
The SmartSteps Exersaucer was my daughter's big first Christmas present (just a few days shy of 3 months old.). It was worth every penny. She was able to play in it from the time she could hold her head up steadily. At first we would stuff blankets behind her to keep her supported, and then took them away when she got better balance. She lasted a few minutes in it at first, just looking at the toys. But, that quickly changed as she grew older. There is enough little toys and do-dahs on this product to keep her entertained as she develops. She's six months old now and is still having a blast in it.
The only complaint that I have is the volume settings on the electronic items. The softer volume is too soft when they are older. It's ok when they are first in it though. And, the louder volume is too loud to me (although it has never seemed to bother her).
My daughter is a big drooler, and I haven't run into the problem with the purple dye on the flower rattle like I've read in the other reviews. But, I will keep an eye on that as she starts putting it in her mouth more.
Customer Review: Night and Day Summary: 5 Stars
We recieved the Little Tikes entertainer which was highly rated for our son, but he never had an interest in it, I'd put him in and he'd just sit there, didn't reach for anything didn't press anything just wasn't interested at all, (he was 4 3/4 mos at this point) then another friend had just purchased the NEW evenflo SmartSteps, and their daughter also 4 mos loved it, I was amazed how she played with everything. So I told my wife lets get this one. So for comparison I put my son in the little tikes in the morning, still nothing, went bought the Evenflo put it together and instantly he was happier, played with the low toys, still not into reaching for the top bar, but that will come in time. Since day 1 the colors and specifically the noise I think were the difference. All the others are very quiet or very low audio. I definitly recommend this entertainer over all others. It is well worth the extra $30, beside what some of the other readers said. If you don't believe me, goto your local babiesrus store and just try your child in it and the other's, it's truly like night and day.
Customer Review: Awesome -buy with confidence!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just recieved this from my mom for my 6 month old son. Untill now his fave toy was the flutterby gym but now he can roll across the entire living room in 2 minutes. He is a busy baby and nothing works for more than 15 minutes- however WOW-I put him in it and he was so excited! he wasn't overwelmed at all, he just went from one toy to the next. He teethed on every single toy in a brand new white fleece outfit and no bleeding of color or stains occurred. He loves this toy because he can stand which is his favorite.I can tell this will be his favorite for a long time. The only thing with my son is the only care he recieves is by me, my husband or our mothers-and he is spoiled with attention so he isn't quite used to not being held for 30min to an hour (how long he plays with it)but if you are in the same room he's just having a ball. He likes company, but it's not a big deal because it's easily portable. Also my book works perfect and my mom bought the display model(last one)so I'm sure it's been used quite a bit. I definately would have spent my own money on this!!
Customer Review: My 6 month old loves his! Summary: 5 Stars
OK, yes the batteries run low quickly, giving you some funky sounds, but get used to that--when your baby gets older you will wish you had bought stock in Duracell!
I was skeptical about spending this much money, but he really does play for long periods of time with just about everything on this entertainer. I can get laundry done sitting next to him now!
The toy bar has three shapes and when pulled, names the shape, color, and some words of praise. (To the pp, it goes, "Circle, yellow, Yippee!") The apple makes cute noises and says "peekaboo!" My son loves the butterflies, turtle, puppy and flower to chew on.
The only part he really does not use is the cell phone, which often falls out of his reach. I am excited about being able to buy more toys to trade off with the ones on the saucer, and also folding it up to bring to grandma's house.
Yes, it is worth it for the 20-30 minutes of hands-free time I get at a stretch during the day. Plus he seems to really enjoy his play time and newfound independence.
Customer Review: awesome value Summary: 5 Stars
i bought this when my twin sons were 4 months old, and they're still using it at 8 months. i'm not sure what the other reviewer said about dye leaking, they have thoroughly chewed everything they could reach and we have not encountered that problem. we tried to get away with just one exersaucer, but they both loved it so much we broke down and bought another. it's provided hours of entertainment, and ranks up there with the kick n'play bouncer in terms of usefulness. the only drawback is that although every square inch is crammed with toys for my little ones, the exersaucer came fully disassembled, and my poor husband spent almost 3 hours putting the two together.
***UPDATE***
my sons loved this exersaucer until they were 11mos old. then they started walking and no longer like it, but looking back this has been the most worthwhile investment of all the various infant toys. when your kid (in my case twins) outgrows toys every month or two, you really appreciate the staying power of a toy that can last 6 months!
