Customer Review: Works Well for Newborns as a Night-Time Only Warmer

We used this warmer from our son's birth to about 6 months in his room hung over the side of the crib for those wee-hour-of-morning changes. The organizer pockets on this warmer were extremely helpful for these times as well since everything you need is right there! We never bought a separate changing station for his room either. We simply bought a waterproof pad and placed it under his touche for diaper changes. We figured the less we moved him, the less we would disturb him, and the easier time he would have going back to sleep. By 6 months we sold our diaper warmer w/ organizer since our son was sticking his fingers through the crib and digging through the items on the side pockets, and we couldn't find anywhere else to hang it. Besides this, he was sleeping through the night and cold wipes no longer disturbed him.
We learned to turn the wipes warmer on just before he went to bed and then shut it off when he awoke. Prior to this, we had problems with it drying out the wipes when left on permanently, but I've been told that almost all wipes warmer dry wipes out. To solve this problem, you can either turn the warmer off during the day or pour some water over the wipes. Either way, I recommend this gadget, especially for newborns!

As most of the customers stated, it does dry out the wipes at the bottom and turn them a yellowish-brownish color. I did not think of the idea to keep those wipes at the bottom all the time, so I did end up wasting quite a few wipes in the process. Also, I did not like how hot the bottom of it got. This made me a little paranoid to leave the warmer on when I was not in the house...I always turned it off. But, this is the only wipe warmer that I have owned, so I suppose maybe all wipe warmers get extremely hot at the bottom. I also did not use the hanger for the wipe warmer. Unlike many of the other customers, I found it to be a little annoying and in the way. I also tried to use the insert to have an opening in which to pull out the wipes, but found that the insert usually came up with the wipe.
On the good side though, I did not have that many wipes dry out, and the condensation that comes from the wipe warmer being closed seemed to keep most of the wipes moist. All I can say is that I'm glad that I didn't buy it, and if I had the choice, I would probably look around for another one before purchasing this one. But, like I said, I guess it gets the job done for the price that you pay for it.

I'd like to give 4+ stars to the warmer, 3 stars for the diaper organizer. The wipey warmer is a luxury every baby deserves. I have 2, one upstairs and one down. I place the wipes in a ziploc bag inside the warmer. It minimizes dry-out. It may be a little laborious, but it really seems to help. Once they dry a bit, I add some water. The bottom wipe sometimes turns brown, so it's best not to pack too many in at a time so they can get circulated. It also helps to unplug it overnight to minimize drying. These are all minor hinderences, but the organizer is the bigger hassle. I have mine attached to the co-sleeper. Though it fits the edge snuggly, it doesn't take much to knock it off. The diapers are contained with a zippered area. I find it to be too much trouble to unzip it every time I need a diaper so I have just left it open, at which point, diapers end up scattered all over the floor. Now the diapers sit on my end table for a quick reach. The organizer isn't totally functionless, however, as I use it to store her extra burp rags. All in all, I'm glad I have the product, I have just modified it to suit my needs, and my baby doesn't protest to diaper changes anymore.Customer Review: I do NOT like the warmer, but the organizer is fine.

I bought this because of the wipe warmer, but it is terrible. The wipes at the bottom will dry out and turn brown within just a few days, and the insert for "pop-up" wipes won't stay down in the unit, so it just comes out with the wipes, making it impossible to grab a wipe with one hand. The unit is supposed to snap on top of the organizer, but mine kept sliding off. I gave up after a few weeks and just took the unit off the organizer, and super-glued a regular wipe container on top of the organizer, that I just keep buying refills for. My baby doesn't seem to mind cold wipes.
I still use the organizer, though, and I like it. It says that it holds about 20 diapers, but when your baby is little, and using diapers through size 2, you can turn them sideways so that you can actually fit in twice as many in two rows instead of just one. They slide out easily and never seem to get stuck in the netting. The little pockets on the side are handy for a tube of diaper rash ointment, etc.
Customer Review: Causes interference with baby monitor

The wipe warmer was especially helpful in the first few weeks of our baby's life, when she screamed at cold wipes. A couple of problems though. Because it doesn't feature a pop-up design, it's difficult to get one wipe at a time. It becomes a two-handed trick of holding up the lid, pulling the wipes you want, and holding the rest of them down. The wipes at the bottom of the warmer end up drying out, so that becomes wasteful. My biggest problem with it is that even though it is about 2 feet away from the base of our baby monitor, every time the warming function comes on (about every 2 minutes), it causes such bad interference with the monitor that you can't hear the baby. So if I am out of the room and need the monitor on, I have to turn the wipe warmer off. Not a big deal, but very annoying. I would only recommend it for people who are able to put the warmer across the room from the baby monitor - that might help.
