Baby Products Reviews of Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining

Customer Review: Perfect for People with Lower Back Problems
Summary: 5 Stars

I have lower back problems and was very hesitant about using a baby carrier. I bought my Ergo after reading excellent reviews on the Internet and talking with co-workers who owned one. I am thrilled with the results. Using the infant insert, I was able to carry my daughter pain free as I worked around the house. The motion usually lulled her to sleep. We can easily adjusted it to fit my petite sister and taller and broader husband.

I also love the longevity of this product. My daughter is now 14 months old and we are still using it (hip position preferred). When I am trying to pack lunches in the morning or get supper together in the evening and I have at foot whose arms are up wanting some mommy time, I put her in the ergo and she is thrilled to be part of the action.

Customer Review: purchase long over due
Summary: 5 Stars

i put off buying this carrier for a whole year, and in the end, i bought it, i waited so long because i could never see myself spending this much on a carrier, but i guess whatever makes mothering easier is well worth the cash, also baby cant sit outward, but im just nit picking. i love the moby as well, but its a headache to put on and take off, especially outside or with a running toddler. ergo is annoyingly spectacular my tot weighs 26 pounds and i have back problems, but with the ergo i can carry him around all day no problem, as long as he lets me. at first my son felt a bit claustrophobic but he got over it pretty quickly. the baby bjorn is AWEFUL, after 10 lbs it became a killer on my poor shoulders, and its not very good for baby to have all the weight on his spine like that anyway

Customer Review: Bad for long torsos
Summary: 1 Stars

This probably works for adults that are shorter than 6' tall or that have a short torso. Don't be fooled by the picture -- this is not built like a backpack with shoulder straps that attach to the carrier at the top and the bottom. In fact, the shoulder straps are attached to the carrier both at the top. The way to think of this particular carrier is that you have a square piece of fabric, a belt along one side, and basically two loops of webbing that come off the top corners opposite the belt. You can imagine why this thing is hard to put on, and harder to get a good fit out of it. Add to the trouble a sternum strap that slides all around the loops and this crazy "privacy hood" that has a bunch of extra straps on it, and it's just a big mess of cloth that gets in the way of itself.

Customer Review: The *best* carrier on the market I have used so far
Summary: 5 Stars

We have tried carrier upon carrier... and the Ergo is the way to go!

Sure, it is kind of ugly.. not the prettiest carrier out there, but who cares? Daddy can use it without feeling like he's carrying the cutesy diaper bag, which is a plus.

We can carry our 22 pounder (5 months) with relative ease, our backs don't hurt *as* much and baby is happy happy in the Ergo. If he isn't, it's because he is hungry or tired or wet!

Up till 20lbs we used the bjorn. Oh, how we should have saved our money and bought this from Day One.

Looking for a shower gift????? GET THIS! Though you may not have ANY idea what this is, believe me... mommy will appreciate this. Get together with friends and buy this if you need to. It's totally worth it.

Customer Review: Love this carrier!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this carrier when my daughter was about 6 months old. Both my husband and I had used the Baby Bjorn when she was an infant and found it very uncomfortable, I've also read that the Baby Bjorn is bad for babies hips. I found that the Ergo is much more comfortable. My husband was not able to wear it without the waist extender.

My daughter is almost 2 and I still use the carrier. She loved riding in it on my front until she was about 14 or 15 months old. I now use it to carry her on my back. I've never used the side position, as I didn't like how the straps hit my neck.

At first it's a little more complicated that the Bjorn, but after using it a few times it is very easy. I needed to watch the video to learn how to use it.
