Baby Products Reviews of Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining

Customer Review: Visit Rome with it
Summary: 5 Stars

If there is only one thing I can own in terms of baby stuff, the ergo baby carrier is what I need.

This May I took my 3.5 years old son and 7 months old daughter to Europe for a month-long trip. The Ergo was so important that I couldn't live without.

When we were in Rome, I carried my 30lbs son and walked from Villa Borghese to Colosseum (about 2 miles under the heat). I was tired but felt fine.

Also this is the most effective way to get my son to sleep. Once I load him on my back, he will fall asleep in 2 or 3 minutes.

The customer service is very good too. One time I lost one of the straps. The company sent me a brand new baby carrier. But I liked the old one which was already broken in. They sent me a strap and I got it fixed myself.

Whenever I go out, I will make sure I have the baby carrier with me ALL THE TIME.

Customer Review: We use it facing out
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this when my daughter was about a year old, and was amazed at how comfortable it was on my back compared to the bjorn. My husband uses it too, and one day I came out and he had her in it facing out. I told him he couldn't do that, and his response was why not? She was happy and stable, we just put her in facing the other way. Don't think it would work with a short baby as the front is pretty high, but worked fine for her. I know the instructions say you can't but we have done it multiple times without a problem. As she got older, (she is almost 2 now), she prefers to be on our backs and tends to fall asleep back there, but just wanted to mention if you are rebel parents like us it might work for you. I find the hip carrying position not very comfortable the way the straps are positioned, but our illegal position is comfy for all. Just an FYI, overall a great carrier.

Customer Review: Got this pack for my third child and I'm kicking myself for not getting it for my first! Love Love Love it!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love love love this carrier it's the best one I have ever used. I have tried the cheap version of the bjorn, I have tried an expensive sling make that two. I have tried a wrap. First my babies never liked any of them. Second they would kill my shoulders or back not long after putting them on. Not with the Ergo. After reading the directions and having my husband there to assist me with the first trial run, I put my tired 5 week old in and went for a walk. He liked it and so did my shoulders/back. I can easily put him in the carrier by myself, I do have the newborn insert and find it easy to use. Today he is almost eight weeks old and I put him in it so I could vacumm and he fell asleep while I vacummed in less then ten minutes. I was able to get him out so easy he never woke up. This carrier is so great I can't believe I waited until my third child to finally make this purchse.

Customer Review: The Only Baby Product I Feel Sentimental Over
Summary: 5 Stars

My 16 mo old loves being in the Ergo and I love having him close by. The Ergo is engineered in such a way that you do not feel like you're carrying 25lbs. It's a great product and easy to put on. I love the front zippered pocket. I can stuff so many things in it that I don't need to carry a diaper bag.

I think with babywearing, the key is to start right away. My son only wants to be in the Ergo, he doesn't want to sit in a grocery cart or walk in a store. This can be good and kind of annoying, but at least I don't have to chase around a toddler while I'm trying to shop.

I love how when he's feeling shy he can bury his head into my chest and when he's feeling playful, he can touch my face. He also likes to chew on the hood straps, which keeps him occupied.

You can discretely breastfeed in it, but I found that more trouble than it was worth.

Customer Review: Size Matters
Summary: 3 Stars

I would whole heartedly give the Ergo 5 stars if it were just a tad bigger. Like others said, you have to be a size 10 to wear this and no I am not going to pay more for an extension piece. I am returning this one and got the Ergo Performance instead. We purchased the Ergo Performance because of this problem and I would give that 5 stars, it has a bigger waist strap. Also the Ergo Sport has a longer strap. Like all the other reviews on here, we do use the Baby Bjorn and Snugli now that she's little and will switch to the Ergo when she can easily straddle us. Ergo is definitely worth the investment...save money on other items that you can easily get second hand.
