Okay- like almost all other new moms, I got a Baby Bjorn, and it was fine, until my daughter hit about 12 lbs. Then my shoulders started to hurt when I walked with her and I read that it wasn't very good for baby's spine to be held by their crotch. So a friend of mine had an Ergo, and I tried it.
Wow, all of the weight was on my hips- not my back, and baby was actually sitting in a little pouch, not in a harness. I love this carrier!!! Now that she is older, my daughter loves the hip carry and back pack carry of this carrier. It has been so valuable when we travel or go to stores or anywear...

I've been looking for a great carrier for my newborn. This carrier is phenomenal. What's really great is it will grow as she grows. So many of the other carriers seem to be limited. It's very comfortable and breathes. The "hood" that's attached is perfect for blocking out the sun for my baby and snaps onto the shoulder straps so it doesn't slip. The Ergo Carrier comes with easy to follow instructions for front, back, side carry instructions. The front pouch is also great for a little burp cloth that's easy to grab. This carrier makes it easy to carry my baby but also leave my hands free!Customer Review: Easy to put baby on my back - even I was surprised!

I have just recently purchased the Ergo and so far my 8 month old baby son loves it. Up until now I have used the Baby Bjorn Synergy (with the lumbar support) but at 18 1/2 pounds I'm finding my son too heavy for it.
I just wanted to note that I actually found it really easy to put my son on my back the first time. I watched the DVD that came with the carrier and rather than use the direct "put baby on back" method I used the "switch baby from front to back" method where you kind of bounce your baby around to your back. I did it first time, on my own in about 20 seconds. Easy!!

Very comfortable to wear and well made. Our baby is just turned 4 months. He is still too small for the carrier. We tried it around the house and found it satisfactory. It will make a great back carrier when the weather turns nice and we get a chance to get out. Cannot stress how comfortable and nicely supported the carrier is. Makes carrying a breeze.
Only complaint with the design is that you cannot carry the baby facing forward or away from your body. It takes a bit of a practice to getting the carrier on and securing the baby all by yourself.

I totally fell in love with this baby carrier as soon as it arrived! I had purchased a Baby Bjorn carrier previously. It was very uncomfortable and just didn't seem to fit right. The Ergo Baby carrier is so comfortable and so versatile. I love the multiple carrying positions (front, side/hip, and back). I put my 2 year old in it just to see how comfortable it was with extra weight. It was GREAT! The thick padded straps didn't dig into my shoulders at all. If you are looking for a baby carrier...this is the one to get! You will NOT regret it!
