Baby Products Reviews of EllaRoo Mei Hip (Mumbai Chocolate)Customer Review: Ouch my shoulder! Summary: 3 Stars
My son grew out of his other baby carrier rather quickly. He weighed about 22 lbs. when I purchased this carrier. I liked the idea of a hip sling and I was excited about this product because it could accomodate babies up to 30 lbs, and seemed simple to use. I loved the fabric and the look of this carrier.
This product claimed to take the weight off of your back by cupping the shoulder with one of the straps. It did indeed do this, but only lead to a very sore shoulder after about 15 minutes. It is also a little difficult to hold your baby and put the strap under your arm and then around the opposite shoulder. I got a lot of strange looks in the parking lots.lol I sometimes needed whoever was with me to help me out. There is also a great deal of extra fabric from the straps that hangs all the way down to the floor. The instructions said you could simply tuck it away, but I had a hard time doing that because there was so much left hanging. When I tucked it in the carrier there was a giant bulge. I guess you could cut it?? I wouldn't recommend this product for babies over 20 lbs.
