Baby Products Reviews of Eddie Bauer Portable Hook On Chair in Grey

Customer Review: Great for dining out & visiting
Summary: 4 Stars

I am surprised that people in other reviews are trying to use this chair for daily use. We purchased it for dining out and going to someone's house for dinner and it is perfect. It is great to not have to put our one year old in a restaurant high chair that is too big for him and not very clean. We have never used the straps - the seat is deep and small enough that he has stayed put for the past 6 months when we used the chair.
The only downside is that I don't feel comfortable using the chair on a glass table. But it works great at a kitchen island and even can go on tables with a ledge under them - you have to fold down the clamps sideways to clear it.

Customer Review: Great for travel or visits to relatives!
Summary: 4 Stars

I don't think this product is for everyday use, which reading the other reviews, that seemed to be the complaint. I only paid about $20, you can't expect it to hold up to every day use!! However, if you use it as intended it is a great thing to have around. We have an RV, which it has worked out great for! We also use it when we travel to our parents cottage. Its also handy for family holidays or any other occasion when you're not sure there will be a highchair for the little one. The cover is washable, although that is a process, so you won't want to do it often, it can be done! Cheap and handy!!!

Customer Review: Love the Chair, Hate the straps, Bottom Is Ripping
Summary: 1 Stars

I love the design of the chair itself. The arms are perfect for our wood table. Now the flaws: I agree with other reviewers, the middle strap doesn't adjust forward and sits underneath my sons crotch area. That makes it very difficult to get in and out and not very secure. The biggest flaw is the seams on the bottom have begin to fray after just 4-5 uses. My son is 20# and it is supposed to hold up to 28#. It makes me think he is going to fall right through it. I am taking mine back and looking for a new one. It's too bad, since Eddie Bauer baby products have become a brand that I trust.

Customer Review: Flawed Design
Summary: 1 Stars

The chairs arms reach so far underneath the table, they rarely fit. Often, you can't slide the chair deep enough onto the table to maintain a secure hold. The straps for the child's waist are also flawed. While you can adjust the side straps, you can't adjust the middle strap which goes between the child's legs. The strap is far too short and as a result, the buckle rests at a very low, uncomfortable position on my child's crotch. I doubt this chair is very safe. My child is only 10 months old and weighs 18 pounds, 13 oz.

A poor design from start to finish. I returned it.

Customer Review: Very Disappointing Product from Such a Well Known Brand
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this chair for my son when he was about 6 months old. It worked fine for a while, although I immediately began to notice minor inconveniences, such as the design of the lap belt, the difficulty in cleaning the chair and in breaking it down for travel. After approximately two months of daily use, the seams along the bottom of the chair began to rip. I was able to contact Dorel Juvenile Group, the manufacturer. They shipped the "defective" chair back at their expense and sent me a new chair. I just don't feel comfortable using the same chair again, though.
