Customer Review: Versatile fun for toddlers, our favorite toy!

I can't tell you how long I waited to be able to buy this for my daughter. When I first was looking for something like this she was too little (about 4 months) for most baby toys. But she's always been a grasper and wants to check out everything's texture and taste in particular. Finally her first birthday rolled around and this was at the top of my list of gifts for her.
After reading the reviews here I knew it was going to be a hit with our family. Yeah, I said family, not baby. My older kids love to play with the baby but often want to play more imaginative play (they're 11 and 12) than she's ready for. This one lets them hold the bag while she shops or pretends to eat and lets them have "a bite". I like to play peekaboo with the banana's face by pulling down the peel--it has velcro on each peel part so it can be "peeled" halfway--and it makes the baby giggle. The milk carton has a little mirror when the top part is opened (velcro again) but isn't a big interest yet. With the slippery texture though this is a favorite for chewing since we're going through teething right now.
I cannot praise this toy enough. It's colorful, has excellent textures and is well crafted, has adorable little faces that you can't help but smile back at and the sound making parts are an added bonus (rattling, crinkling, squeeking, jingling...) and with the bag itself your child can learn IN and OUT. If you're health concious the fact that these are fruits, a veggie and milk may also be appealing over other food toy sets.
Perfect for children from about 10-12 months (I think the recommendation is 12 months but IMO my baby would have been okay at 10) through the toddler years.
