Baby Products Reviews of Dreambaby Stroller FanCustomer Review: Great stroller fan at a great price Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of these to take on our trip to Disney World in April 2010 knowing how muggy Orlando can get in the spring and summer. Both my 8 month old and my 4 1/2 year old LOVED them. The baby could play with it when it was on, and it kept her cool and entertained while she was in the stroller. It also was a great help when she fell asleep in the stroller since it kept her comfortable. The 4 1/2 year old loved hers too, but more often than not carried it around with her instead of attaching it to the stroller. My husband did drop one on the asphalt, and while it knocked the LEDs for a bit of a loop, it continued to work as a fan perfectly (and eventually the lights started working again). I can see where the lights would freak out an adult a bit, but our kids loved them and were fascinated. They're not that hard to disconnect if they really bother you. Do be careful if you have kids with long hair- it will tangle it nicely if the fan accidentally catches it. We had once hair incident with our older daughter, but the fan is not very powerful and we were able to get her hair and the fan separated with a minimum of angst all around. The batteries lasted for the entire 6 day trip, though they were probably on a total of about 10 hours, and they are still going strong now that we're home. These were a great buy, and will be going with us on all our summer trips for the next few years.
Customer Review: Disney Must Have Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this fan for a trip to Disneyland in September. We took it into the park everyday and clipped it onto my daughters stroller. It kept her nice and cool in sunny hot weather. I must have been asked 20 times where we got the fan. It has foam blades which are wonderful because my 4 month old daughter kicks and sticks her arms out and constantly got her little feet or hands into the blades. It didn't even scare her, the fan stopped quickly and didn't even scratch her. The fan clipped anywhere on her stroller (Maclaren Triumph Stroller). The only complaint I have about this fan is that you have to unscrew the battery compartment which can be tough in the middle of the park but we just made sure to buy a small screwdriver and bring extra batteries. All in all I would say that this is definitely worth the $10 for it, I am going to buy 2 more just in case they break down in Disney World this Christmas (if it's warm). If you buy this fan I would just say make sure you unclip it and take it in with you if your in Disney, I was offered money for this fan in the park and had lots of people eyeing it, I'm sure if I hadn't taken it in with me to different rides it would have been gone! :-)
Customer Review: Disappointed Summary: 3 Stars
While the idea is good and the fan clip is large enough to use this fan in multiple places, I'm unhappy with this purchase.
- The LED light display on the fan is excessive. I removed the batteries that power the LED display.
- It's a battery hog, perhaps because the fan assembly is heavier because of the extra circuitry and lights added for the aforementioned LED light display. Even quality batteries don't last as long as I thought they would.
- The fan blades quickly get bent out of shape and/or torn if you throw this in a purse or diaper bag. Bent blades don't move air as well and defeat the purpose of having a fan to begin with.
- The "neck" isn't as flexible or as long as it needs to be, and it is difficult to position it in such a way that the fan blades don't hit the neck, especially after the blades become deformed and bent.
I've found other clip-on fans for 1/2 the price at a local store with higher quality fan blades and a longer neck. I recommend looking around your local stores before purchasing this item.
Customer Review: Awesome little fan! Summary: 5 Stars
If you're looking for a baby friendly fan, look no further! I purchased this fan to clip on to our stroller on muggy Virginia days and its awesome. I've also been using it in the back seat to help cool my little one down when we first get in the car and the AC hasn't caught up to the heat. The fan has one gentle setting which seems to be just the right speed; not too fast not too slow. The fan blades are made of soft foam so little fingers (and noses as we found out) won't get hurt if touched. It has a strong clip and a flexible neck that make it versatile. The fan also features a strand of LED lights that create different light patterns while the fan is in motion. My daughter loves the lights! They do require two LR-44 watch batteries which are included. The fan itself requires two "AA" batteries.
Customer Review: Best invention ever! Summary: 5 Stars
I live in Texas where the heat & mosquito's can ruin an outing with your little people. The stroller fan makes life so much easier. The constant movement helps keep the mosquito's off my little guy & keeps him cool. I've got 2 babies. When we went to the Zoo in June I had one for each child on the double stroller. I was constantly being stopped & asked where we got them. They put out a lot of wind for a small foam fan & you dont have to worry about little fingers getting hurt since its foam. The lights are unnecessary, my baby found them overstimulating but you can take the light battery out. I went back to buy more for a friend who's expecting & they are sold out. I'd buy in bulk if you live in the south, these are hard to find & hard to replace.
