Baby Products Reviews of Dreambaby Bath SeatCustomer Review: Too slippery/baby slides down/back bar scrapes her back Summary: 2 Stars
Whoever made this seat obviously didn't test it out on a baby first! I've only used this product for my 7-month-old daughter once, and I'll have to alter the seat if I'm going to use it again. I purchased this bath seat because she is outgrowing her baby bathtub and can situp well on her own now. However, it was very difficult to bathe her in this seat because the seat got so slippery that she kept sliding, and I'd have to struggle to hold her up while bathing her, otherwise her back would get scraped on the rough underneath edges of the back bar, as she slid down. Also, when I would readjust her in the seat after she slid down, the suction cups would unstick and the seat would start to float, but probably due to our tub because it has a slip-resistant surface. Be aware that the suction cups will only adhese properly if your tub floor has a completely smooth surface. After I bathed her in it the first time, her back and shoulders were all red from getting scraped on the rough edges underneath the back bar when she slid. They should've made the back bar with completely rounded edges underneath to avoid this, however, if I can keep her from slipping by adding some slip-resistant stick-ons to the seat, I might be able to make it work.
Customer Review: It works, but needs improvement Summary: 3 Stars
The seat saved me a TON of time because I was finally able to bathe my 5 month old and my 2.5 year old at the same time. Unfortunately there were a few things that just weren't good enough. The seat didn't stick to any of the tubs in my house, and I have three. You'd think it could be a little bit more universal, you know? That said, my chunka baby weighed the seat down enough and I was able to be hands-free (but of course I never left her sight). The edges were way too sharp and left marks all over her body. The back and front offer no cushioning, so when my daughter skid around it left marks on her. When she leaned forward the little useless toys poked into her belly. The seat also fell apart a few times after taking her out, but I was able to snap it back together again. The seat also put my daughter about 2-3 inches above the bottom of the tub, so I had to make the water pretty deep to keep her warm. This meant my older daugher was having a hard time keeping from floating away in the deep water.
It did what I needed it to do, but it could certainly be a little more comfy for a lil baby!
Customer Review: Just What I Wanted!!! Summary: 5 Stars
When my son began to outgrow his infant bath, I searched the stores for this type of bath seat with no luck. All I was really looking for was the old circular type, so this particular seat was actually more and BETTER THAN what I wanted!
I do have to say that in the beginning (around maybe four or five months?) he really liked to lean forward and it would have been really easy for his little body to fold up and squeeze through the openings in the back. Of course, with proper supervision it's obviously nothing to worry about.
The suction cups are incredibly strong and so nice for little wiggle worms! :)
I'm not sure about everybody else's seats, but on ours the little toys are VERY difficult to spin. One is obviously supposed to be a little tough since there's a "click" sound, but the other two barely move at all...that's really the only way in which I would fault this product. I remember people complaining about moldy suction cups and the like, but as long as you CLEAN and disinfect your bathtub and your child's belongings, no such problem should arise!
Customer Review: love this seat Summary: 5 Stars
I was afraid to bathe our baby in the tub without this seat, and I am really not sure how people manage to wash a baby in the tub without a chair or getting in, which is not practical for us. He loves his bath seat, and really enjoys sitting in it and playing in the bath. It is necessary to fold down the front for some of the washing, and to stand him up outside the chair for the behind, but for 90% of the bath he is supported by the chair. The little toys on the chair seem lame to me, but he loves them. When I fold down the bar to wash him, he pulls back up on it because he wants the toys. Sometimes he does slouch down in the chair, which leaves red marks on his legs, but if I pull him back up into a sitting position, this does not happen. We have had the chair for about 3 months now, and the suction cups work really well- it is best to have some water in the tub before pressing it down to suction. My sister just bought one for her baby on my recommendation- a great bath chair. The fold-up option is great-we hang it on the towel hook in our small bathroom.
Customer Review: Great Seat Summary: 4 Stars
I have what must be an older model. Picked it up second hand when my daughter started to be able to climb out of her other one. We have the one that hookes to the side of the tub. Its only good until they try to climb, then they could tip themselves over, even right in front of you. So I've only used this seat once. I put her in it before I got it and she fits great. She is about 17 pounds and 7 months. She has good sized legs. I don't think a baby with big legs would fit really well in the seat. She seems to like it. Wish I had orderd one sooner. It is very easy to get her in and out of. You just open, put her in and then push it closed. Folds up very easy and I even hooked mine to the shower wall. I give it four stars because the suction cups, though they do hold well, slide around. I think that if she was stronger she could move the seat. Its very companct and I can easily take a bath with her. I think it would work great so that a younger child can take a bath with an older one. Will tell my friends about this one!
