I registered for these bottles while I was pregnant based on reviews I had read and hear-say from people I'd meet in the store while "researching" them. Of course when you are a first time mom you aren't familiar with any of the baby stuff so you have to take advice on these sorts of things from other moms. I think the concept of these bottles is wonderful but they are too aggravating. I never used one of these bottles that didn't leak. No matter what I did to try to get them not to leak, it didn't work. So they made for a very messy feeding time and a waste of milk; and as a first time mom with a newborn, this is the last thing I wanted to deal with! I always had to make sure that my daughter had a bib on or I had a burp cloth tucked under her chin. I have recently switched to the Playtex VentAire and feeding time is much more enjoyable and not messy at all!Customer Review: Colic? Gas? Reflux? Fussy? Try these ...

My son was born 5 weeks early and suffered terribly with acid reflux. I tried other bottles, but these are what worked for us. These bottles cut down on the amount of air my son swallowed in. Less air swallowing meant less burps, which meant less spit up for us!
The bottles are NOT EXTRA work, as some may have you to believe. I have 12 of them, and I simply pop ALL of the parts except the nipples into the dishwasher and everything comes clean with no residue! They are just as easy to clean as any other bottle.
At 11 months, my son still uses them and refuses to give them up for his sipppy cups (but that is another issue...LOL)
Dr. Brown's customer service is excellent too. When the inner tubing melted in the dishwasher, I emailed them and within a week I had a replacemnt tube sent to me for free.

My baby has a soy/dairy intolerance and a very sensitive stomach. He is now on a prescription formula. These bottles do help with the gas and I feel they were great to have for the first 3 months. But, now that his stomach isn't as sensitive, I'm hoping I can switch him to another type of bottle. These are a pain to clean by hand so wouldn't recommend them if you do not have a dishwasher. And these really do leak A LOT! You can't even put the lid on it and throw it in the diaper bag. You will have to clean your whole diaper bag out when the milk leaks everywhere! And they often leak when you first start feeding the baby. You have make sure the lid is not too tight or too loose-- it has to be just right or it will leak. I gave these three stars because they do help with gas but I actually HATE these bottles because of the leaking!Customer Review: Very highly recommend these bottles

These bottles saved my son's tummy. He wore a Pavlic Harness for the first 2 months of his life so he was unable to move and stretch out his legs enough to allow his bowels to function properly. After screaming for 2 weeks straight we finally tried these bottles and found the solution to his discomfort. We kept using these bottles all the way up until he was 15 months old and weened from the bottle entirely. They did cost more than the other bottles, but for us it was well worth it. There was never a bubble in the nipple and the seals stayed tight. I gave these 4 stars only because we don't own a dishwasher so the washing was hard to keep up with, having so many parts. If we had a dishwasher it would've been 5 stars, easily. However, I would recommend purchasing a larger quantity of bottles so washing does not become an issue.Customer Review: Great Bottles

I love these bottles. Yes they have 2 extra pieces (big deal), but I don't care I didn't want to chance it with my baby. She is 8 weeks today and I have not had a problem with gas or anything of the sort yet - knock on wood. They we recommended to me from a male colleague of mine who was having terrible trouble with his newborn before he decided to switch over. Since than no reported problems - baby is happy. I have never had a problem with leaking either. They are a bit more pricey - but I'll take that over a screaming baby. I suggest getting more of the 8 oz bottles & not spending the money on the smaller ones, they'll grown out of them quickly. I'm also thinking that as she gets older I can omit putting in the 2 extra pieces and save some time. Hope this helps - I based alot of my decision on these reviews and my colleague/friend.
