Another online reviewer, stated she used Dr. Browns with Similac advanced formula. I do the same and everything has been perfect. I too considered changing my formula, but didn't need to, I needed to change my bottles. i was using Playtex Vent Air. ( those nipples stink!) He was extremley gassy, and now with Dr.Browns his gas is relieved. I did have a leaking problem, but that was my fault. You need to close the bottles tight, make sure the nipple is fastened properly. Which isnt a big chore. In addition, as a first time mom I was heating my bottle up with the nipple and all the parts still on the bottle. Which caused explosions and leaking! So dont be a dummy like me!Customer Review: These bottles are great

My oldest had terrible colic and if I had known to get Dr. Browns the first time I would have. So I did for the second baby and I could not be happier. The system is great, the cleaning of them is fine and easy I just stick in the dishwasher in the top rack. You can get nipples to adjust to age, and I will probably use them through the first year. They do tend to be leaky if you have them upside down for too long so beware when you are traveling or if you have it in a bag....if it is laying upside down when there is milk in it, it will fill into the cap and when you open the cap it all pours out.
Other than that I would definitely get these bottles again.

In an effort to stop my son's painful gas, I have been through countless bottles. I did not want to try the Dr. Browns because of all the parts and they seemed too complicated. Once I gave in, I was glad I did. The bottles are not at all hard to wash or assemble. These bottles have greatly reduced my son's discomfort.
Someone wrote that they had problems with the bottles leaking. If the tube assembly is crooked and not on straight, the bottle will leak. So put it on straight and there's no problem!
I only wish they came with more than 2 storage caps. The caps are very handy unlike the little discs other bottles have for you to put in the bottle rings.

I purchased these bottles after a friend of mine recommended them to me after using them herself for her baby. I have got to say that my baby has had no cholic or excess gas. I've heard many horror stories about cholic babies and anything that can help cut those chances down I am for. I have used these bottles from day 1 so I couldn't say for sure if these bottles did the job but all I know is my baby is happy with them. The only bad thing I would say is you definitely need at least 8-10 of these bottles unless you want to wash them over and over for each feeding. There are also many parts to these bottles to wash but considering what they do it's well worth it.
