My baby was born at 27 weeks, and has had tons of feeding issues. When she was discharged from NICU, we were using Gerber Slow Flow nipples. A few days after getting home, she began having apnea episodes during feedings- she wasn't breathing and was turning blue. We ended up in the ER, and consulted with a speech pathologist in the pediatric ward. It turns out she has GER (reflux). The pathologist gave us Dr. Brown's bottles, and they have worked like a charm. She doesn't gulp her milk anymore, and is able to take a full feeding without spitting up. She hardly ever gets gas in her tummy because of the design.
Yes, clean up takes much longer, and is no fun (especially in the middle of the night). However, as long as my baby can breathe during her feedings, I'd take any amount of clean up.
I would highly recommend these bottles to any moms of preemies who have feeding issues, whether it's reflux or pacing.

We're 2 weeks into using the Dr. Brown's bottles with twins and love them. Our boys were started in the hospital using the Enfamil nursette bottles and disposable nipples. Once we took them home, they started using the Dr. Brown's bottles and seem to have less burps and gas.
They are a little more work for cleanup - each bottle has 6 pieces, so you'll need to come up with a system for washing them. Two products that make this easier: a few of the Munchkin Deluxe Dishwasher Basket, Assorted to help corral the little parts in the dishwasher, and at least one Dr. Brown's Drying Rack for sorting them on the counter top. Though we have a sterilizer, we haven't used it much at all.

We just started pumping and introducing a bottle in preparation for my return to work. Our 4 1/2 week old daughter took this bottle with zero hesitation and is now going back and forth between breastfeeding and bottle beautifully. All the parts sounded intimidating but are actually very easy to use and clean. Neither my husband or I had ever bottle fed a baby before, and we figured it out without difficulty.
For any other first-time, clueless parents out there: this set comes with a size 1 (newborn)nipple attached to each bottle (5 total) and 2 size 2 nipples that are extras. I didn't see anywhere in the description that said the size 1's were included (just listed the size 2 nipples)and having never done this before we didn't realize the Size 1's came as part of the bottle, so I ordered the newborn size separately. Oops, but we'll use them.

These are a great set of bottles. The main reason to get these bottles is because of the stopper and nipple. The stopper and nipple keeps the milk from squirting out. Even when you squeeze the bottle the milk barely comes out. So that leaves the only way for the milk to flow out is by massaging the nipple. My daughter almost never chokes on these bottles because of how it controls the flow of milk. It only happens when she drinks too fast or if I feed her with a regular bottle that doesn't have the stopper in it.
The set comes with enough bottles that I probably wouldn't need a second pack because of how easy they are to clean. I'll get a new one any since they're at a great price and allow me to feed my child without having to worry about her having problems like overflow, or bubbles and such.

Got Dr. Browns due to recommendations from at least 3 friends whose opinions I trust. I haven't tried any other bottles, but these work great! At 4 months, my baby is even holding up the bottle w/her 2 hands. ..so cute. I haven't had any problems with leaking except when I travel, now I use the travel closed tops instead of all the inserts/cap. I just take the inserts/cap in a ziploc. Husband gave her the 1st bottle at 2.5 wks, and she took! Positive experience for us using Dr. Browns. Amazon has great prices, and we get all the accessories here. Don't need many small bottles. We use the 8oz mostly. We bought extra nipples and bottles. Nipples come in various sizes at different month stages (3 month, 6 months). HIghly recommend them!
