Customer Review: So Many Problems Solved!
Summary: 5 Stars

My son had such problems with gas and spitting up his entire feeding, so at the age of six weeks we purchased these bottles, hoping to get some relief for him (it was heart-wrenching seeing him squirm and cry from the gas) and for us (even 'some' sleep would have been nice). We got more than "some" relief - there is NO gulping sounds when he drinks anymore which is a great benefit I never expected, so much of a reduction in that mucousy sounding breathing after a feeding, of course the best is that he has rarely spit up since we switched to these, I'd say at least a 95% reduction! He used to make a deep burping sound and out would come his entire feeding (even after trying to burp him for soooo long), poor thing, but now he doesn't do that. I highly recommend these bottles. I spend about 60 seconds extra cleaning these bottles over other brands but it's totally worth it. The little cleaning brush that comes with the pack is really easy to lose though, so watch for that. :) I like that they have stage 2 as well as cereal/formula cut nipples available so that he'll be using these for a long time. I'm just so pleased with these!

Customer Review: These bottles were awful!!
Summary: 1 Stars

My son has been bottle fed since he was born and after doing a lot of research I decided to use Dr. Brown's bottle system because they seemed to be highly recommended. My son was so colicky the first 3 weeks of his life and it took me that long (being a new mom) to realize that my son was hardly getting any formula as the nipples were way too fast. He was getting more formula than he could swallow and subsequently swallowing a lot of air. The Level 1 nipple is what I used and it is recommended for newborns but it is very fast. You can tip the bottle upside down and the formula flows out. They are also a real pain to clean - all those parts. I tried the Avent system and had the same problem. Ever since I switched to the Playtex VentAire with the Stage 1 nipples my son has been much happier and much more content at feeding time. The Playtex VentAire do not come with Stage 1 nipples, they come with Stage 2, you have to buy the Stage 1 nipples separately. Stage 2 is still too fast for my son and he is 3 months old. Just wanted to let every new mom know this because if your baby is colicky it may very well be the bottle!

Customer Review: Bottle Heaven
Summary: 5 Stars

Lots of parts, more to clean. And that's the only down side. On the pro column, these bottles produce almost no bubbles, does not leak when used properly, and my baby has an easier time with the nipple. Consequently, my baby now suffers much less from gas, feeds more comfortably and more quickly. He sleeps better, much less hiccups, much less grunts/groans during sleeping. Finally, I feel better for him. A happy baby makes for a happy me. My baby was not latching well to the Avent nipples - not a bad product, but the gap between his lips and the Avent's firm silicone nipple caused milk to drip down his chin every time he feeds, the same gaps allows air to sip through and get ingested by him - and as a result, he experiences gas pain after almost every feeding. If your baby can latch onto the Avent nipple properly, then he should have no problems with it. The Avent still offers the most complete bottle-feeding system on the market today. At least, I think so. For now however, my six 4-oz Avent bottles are going to the storage and will later be used to serve Gerber-type baby food. For milk, the Dr. Browns are it.

Customer Review: NEW MOMS- TRY THESE 5 Stars

I have tried Avent, Ventaire, Platex Nursers, Evenflo, and Gerber and let me tell you Dr. Brown's bottles are THE BEST by far.

My baby was bottle fed from the start and he could not get good suction on the wide nipples that are so popular right now. Therefore, he was swallowing a TON of air and spitting up constantly and always struggling every time I would feed him.

I tried these bottles as a last resort because they are more expensive and have more pieces to clean than other bottles, but it was WORTH every dime and the small amount of extra time to clean. (there are two extra pieces to throw into the dishwasher basket)

My child is relaxed and enjoys his feedings now. He has signifigantly reduced spit up and gas. Isn't it worth the extra time and money to have a happy baby? I recommend that you try these bottles FIRST and save yourself the time of having to switch later. You get what you pay for with these bottles! Another plus is that there are 3 different types of nipples (flex, regular and wide) and 2 types of bottles, wide mouth and regular so you are not limited to one particular type of bottle!

Customer Review: Miricale Bottles!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I admit, I was extremly skeptical... my mother actually bought these for me b/c my preemie son was in pain all of the time from gas and the only thing that slightly helped was the Playtex Nursers, and he was still in pain a lot of times. We tried everything to help him. Then she brought me these.. and he has not had a problem since... My son is a happy baby again!!!! I am so happy with these. I read on here that cleaning them is a pain.. but that is just not so. I hand clean bottles anyways and it is so simple to clean these bottles, I can't believe that ppl are so lazy as to complain about a couple extra seconds to run a brush in 3 holes. Gimmie a break. I also clean a bunch of parts for my pump, so I just do it all at once. OH!!! And these bottles fit on my Medela pump, so I can just pump right in the bottle!!!! And we havent had any leaks, btw... these things are GREAT. Oh, and they also make a widemouth version that you can get at Babies R Us... just in case you prefer them.... I wish I had gotten these earlier.. my son is 7 weeks (he was born at 32 weeks, btw) and he is a different baby with these bottles.
